Udayana University Signs MoU with OMBUDSMAN RI, OMBUDSMAN Member Jemsly Hutabarat Gives Public Lecture

Jimbaran - Udayana University (Unud) has collaborated with the Indonesian OMBUDSMAN which was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by both parties in the Nation Room, Jimbaran Campus Rectorate Building, Friday (14/6/2024). As an implementation of the MoU, on this occasion a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) was also signed between the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Unud and the RI OMBUDSMAN which was then coupled with a Public Lecture by the Chair of the RI OMBUDSMAN who took the topic "Propartive Supervision towards Excellent Public Services which is free from maladministration."

This activity was attended directly by Member of the Indonesian OMBUDSMAN Jemsly Hutabarat, Head of the Bali Province OMBUDSMAN Representative and staff, Rector of Unud, Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information of Unud, faculty leaders and students.

Rector of Unud Prof. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana in his speech said that of course this collaboration is to increase partnerships and collaboration so that they can synergize, which is very important because they can do positive things and collaborate with each other, especially in governance to create good government and avoid irregularities. deviation. This collaboration must of course also be followed by PKS which is an indicator of our performance.

According to OMBUDSMAN, last year there were also students who did MBKM at OMBUDSMAN and through this collaboration we can have more freedom to carry out this. Through this opportunity, the Rector also hopes that students can gain as much knowledge as possible from OMBUDSMAN members in this Public Lecture according to the topic presented.

Member of the Indonesian OMBUDSMAN Jemsly Hutabarat in his speech said that the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding was a collaboration between OMBUDSMAN, especially the Bali Province OMBUDSMAN Representative, which would produce excellent public services in the future and also make the nation's life more intelligent. The OMBUDSMAN's duties include outreach and sharing about good public services because ultimately this is the welfare of the community.

There are two things in this collaboration, namely synergy and coordination, so synergy between OMBUDSMAN and Udayana University and coordination to improve public services and also to increase or build national intelligence in this country so that it can become a strong nation in realizing its ideals.

Meanwhile, in a public lecture, Member of the Indonesian OMBUDSMAN Jemsly Hutabarat explained about public services for state purposes and the Indonesian OMBUDSMAN which is a supervisory institution for public service providers along with its roles, main duties and authority as well as excellent public services that are free from maladministration. Maladministration itself is the behavior of state and government officials who commit unlawful acts, exceed authority, use authority for other purposes, are negligent, ignore legal obligations which cause material and/or immaterial losses to society and individuals.
