Increasing Community Understanding Regarding Intellectual Property, MBKM Bina Jatiluwih Village Holds Socialization and Focus Group Discussion

Tabanan - Tuesday (28/05/2024), students from the Faculty of Law, Udayana University (Unud) who were implementing the MBKM Village Development Program in Jatiluwih Village held a socialization activity regarding Intellectual Property Rights with the theme "Intellectual Property Rights in a Legal Perspective to Provide Legal Protection For Local Products”. This activity was held at the Jatiluwih Kangin-Kawan Banjar Hall, Jatiluwih Village, and invited three speakers including Prof. Dr. Ni Ketut Supasti Dharmawan, SH., M.Hum., LLM, Putu Aras Samsithawrati, S.H., LLM and Dr. Made Aditya Pramana Putra, S.H., M.H.

This socialization activity was attended directly by I Nengah Kartika., S.Sos. as the Jatiluwih Village Perbekel, as well as the Jatiluwih Village community. Apart from that, this activity was also accompanied by Field Assistant Lecturer (DPL), I Gusti Ngurah Nyoman Krisnadi Yudiantara, S.H., M.H. The MBKM Bina Desa Jatiluwih group held an outreach with the aim of providing understanding to the community about the importance of Intellectual Property Rights in providing legal protection for local products.

In this event, the speaker conveyed several things regarding Intellectual Property, which began with a presentation of material regarding Intellectual Property in general which was delivered directly by Prof. Dr. Ni Ketut Supasti Dharmawan, SH., M.Hum., LLM. Then continued with the presentation of material regarding personal intellectual property and communal intellectual property, regarding personal intellectual property material including copyright, patents, industrial designs and brands, delivered directly by Putu Aras Samsithawrati, S.H., LLM, then added by Dr. Made Aditya Pramana Putra, S.H., M.H. by presenting material about brands, both personal brands and collective brands.

Then, after the material presentation session was finished, it continued with the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) agenda which focused on discussing the preparation of a communal intellectual property recording form regarding Traditional Knowledge with the Laklak Baas Barak Cenana Jatiluwih product.
