Unud Collaborates with HMECC-CAEDA, Tianjin University, and Bali Tourism Polytechnic to Hold The First China-ASEAN International Forum on Traditional Medine

The First China-ASEAN International Forum on Traditional Medine event will be held in Bali from 17-18 May 2024, at the Imperial Hall, Intercontinental Hotel, Bali. This event was held in collaboration between The First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Medicine, Health and Medical Exchange Cooperation Committee of the China-Asia Economic Development Association, Udayana University (Unud), and Bali Tourism Polytechnic. This International Forum was officially opened by the Indonesian Ambassador to the People's Republic of China,jauhari Urat Mangun.

The Rector of Udayana University, who on this occasion was represented by the Vice Rector for Cooperation, Planning and Information, Prof. I Putu Gede Adiatmika was present at the opening event and gave a speech, hoping that holding this event would build relationships, exchange ideas and create innovative solutions that would strengthen the global position of traditional medicine, and that this activity would be beneficial for all parties.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Komang Januartha Pinatih was present as one of the keynote speakers on the first day of the activity. He delivered material on Traditional Medicine in Medical Education: Opportunities and Challenges. Also present as another speaker from the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, namely Prof. I Made Jawi and Dr. Dr. Cokorda Bagus Jaya Lesmana.

On the second day of the meeting, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, attended. In his speech, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy invited business actors or traditional medicine industries from China to invest in Indonesia. The Minister also appreciated the implementation of this activity because it not only expands the potential for developing health tourism in Indonesia, especially Bali is expected to become a world-class MICE destination.
