Independent Student Exchange Batch 4, Udayana University Accepts 91 Inbound Students and Leaves 35 Outbound Students
Udayana University (Unud) held an activity for Welcoming Inbound Students & Sending Off Outbound Students for Independent Student Exchange Batch 4 (PMM 4) 2024 "Temporary Exchange, Meaningful Forever" which took place in a hybrid manner in the Nusantara Room, Agrokompleks Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, Wednesday (6/ 3/2024). This reception activity aims to mark the start of PMM 4 activities at Udayana University. In 2024, Unud will accept 91 inbound students from 63 universities throughout Indonesia from 5 clusters, namely Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Maluku-Papua. Apart from receiving, Unud also sent 35 outbound students to 12 universities in Indonesia.
Head of MBKM Unit Unud Dr. I Ketut Sardiana in his report said that the PMM activity, which has now reached class 4, is a student mobility program with funding from the LPDP for one semester to gain learning experience at universities in Indonesia and at the same time experience directly strengthening unity in diversity. Inbound students have arrived at Unud on February 26 2024, where these students will be registered as Unud students for one semester by obtaining an Unud Student Identification Number. PMM 4 participants attend lectures from March 4 to the end of July 2024. While at Unud, PMM Inbound students will be guided by 4 Indonesian module lecturers and accompanied by 4 liaison officers recruited from final semester students and 1 PPKS PIC.
PMM students take 20 credits in 1 semester, with details of 16 credits for lectures in regular classes and 4 credits for lectures in the Indonesian module. Unud provides 114 typical Unud courses that PMM 4 students can choose.
"Paying attention to PMM Unud participants who come from various parts of the archipelago, of course there will be many differences, including race, ethnicity, language, religion, culture and so on. On this occasion we advise that everyone can face this diversity with a spirit of togetherness, prioritizing tolerance and mutual support. "respecting fosters a sense of unity among Indonesian children," said the Head of the MBKM Unit.
The Head of the PMM Program at the Ministry of Education and Culture, who joined online, Asri Aldila Putri, S.Sos., M.Si, in her speech expressed her appreciation to Udayana University for its support and commitment to continue participation as a university receiving PMM Batch 4 with 91 students from all over Indonesia. This program is a big step in transforming higher education not only into a place of learning limited by classroom walls but also into a meeting space so that Indonesian students can get to know each other better.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau, Drs. I Ketut Kartika representing the Chancellor of Unud in his speech said that this activity was one part of the work contract with the Ministry, especially IKU 1 and IKU 2, where IKU 2 had not yet reached the target. Hopefully, with joint cooperation in the future, student work contracts for off-campus activities can be improved so that they can meet targets. Synergy and joining hands are needed to achieve the targets set. The aim of carrying out this activity is to officially accept Inbound students and the aim of this program is to increase national, diversity and academic insight. We hope that this diversity can always be maintained. Through this opportunity, his party also emphasized that PMM participants maintain diversity and respect each other and also follow existing regulations, especially in Bali Province.
In this activity, an introduction to the academic atmosphere at Udayana University was also carried out by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja which was continued with the election of the Tribal Head and the introduction of the Sudirman Campus.
