Udayana University Postgraduate Held First Lecture, Attended by 476 New Students
Denpasar - Udayana University (Unud) through Postgraduate held the First Lecture for the 2023/2024 Even Semester which took place in a hybrid manner in the Nusantara Room, Agrokompleks Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, Tuesday (5/3/2024). This inaugural lecture was attended by 476 new postgraduate students and was opened by the Rector of Unud and also attended by University Leaders, Faculty Leaders, Postgraduates, Work Units and Study Program Coordinators within Unud both offline and online.
Unud Postgraduate Director Prof. I Wayan Budiasa in his report said that this inaugural lecture activity invited 476 new Postgraduate students spread across 40 study programs in 8 Faculties and 1 Postgraduate. There were 241 students who attended in person and 235 people online. The largest number of students was contributed by the Faculty of Medicine, Postgraduate and Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty. This inaugural lecture presented 5 speakers, namely the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Chair of the Unud Senate, USDI Representative, Chair of JUPI Unud and Head of Unud Library. Through this opportunity, the party also requires all new students to register on the Springer Nature journal link via the QR code that has been prepared by the Unud Library.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Unud, Prof. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana in his speech introduced a glimpse of Udayana University which has 13 Faculties and 1 Postgraduate Program which in total manages 124 study programs. Of the 124 study programs at Udayana University, 72 study programs are postgraduate programs which include professional programs, master's programs, doctoral programs and PPDS. It was further stated that the implementation of education at Udayana University is supervised internally by the Inspector General from the Ministry of Education and Culture to ensure global quality higher education and fulfill good governance. To fulfill good governance, Udayana University has also committed together with the 14 units within it to build an integrity zone towards a Corruption Free Area & Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (ZI-WBK & WBBM).
Unud Postgraduate higher education always refers to the updated National Higher Education Standards which are derived from the Udayana University Standards and refers to the Professional Program Academic Guidelines, Masters Program Academic Guidelines, Doctoral Program Academic Guidelines and PPDS Academic Guidelines which are also regularly updated following the latest regulatory developments. One of the regulations related to the implementation of higher education is Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 53 of 2023 concerning Quality Assurance in Higher Education and the implementation of postgraduate education at Udayana University as soon as possible to make adjustments to these regulations.
"We hope that this inaugural lecture will be a valuable provision for all new students in undergoing the learning process on the Udayana University campus," said the Rector.
With the various facilities prepared at Udayana University which will also continue to be improved, the Chancellor also hopes that all new students will seriously complete their education in a timely manner according to the curriculum and length of study period at each level of education.
