SCIL Delegation, Faculty of Law Unud Wins Overall File Ranking and Best Prosecutor File in The 18th Indonesian Round IHL MCC 2023
Yogyakarta, flunud.ac.id – Student Community for International Law (SCIL) Faculty of Law, Udayana University (Unud) took part in The 18th Indonesian Round of the International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition (IHL MCC) 2023 which was held on 11-12 and 18- 19 November 2023 by the Indonesian International Red Cross together with Gajah Mada University. The SCIL delegation consisted of four students as participants including Natalia Clara Situmorang (class of 2021), Farah Nadiyah (class of 2021), Paschen Ayu Genta Sarasvathi (class of 2022), and Ratna Emilia (class of 2021), Annisyakira Egiana (class of 2021) as manager, as well as Made Ananda Bella Cahyani, S.H. and I Komang Dananjaya, S.H. (alumni of the Faculty of Law, Udayana University) as coaches.
This year, the SCIL Delegation received two awards, namely Best Overall Memorials and Best Prosecutor Memorial in the IHL MCC. Congratulations and success to the SCIL Delegation from the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, who has added to the academic achievements of the Faculty of Law, Udayana University.
IHL MCC is implemented as part of the socialization and promotion of international humanitarian law to students throughout Indonesia. The participants will play the parties in a trial simulation at the International Criminal Court, in a war crimes case. Initially, the delegation will carry out in-depth research to prepare arguments in the trial file, which will then be followed by a simulation of the oral trial. On this occasion, the SCIL Delegation successfully passed the file stage and continued the competition to the oral trial stage in the preliminary round which was held online.
