PPK Ormawa Udayana University Agroecotechnology Student Association Holds Organic Market in Pejeng Kangin Village

Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa) Himagrotek (Agroecotechnology Student Association) Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University in 2023 with the Program "Optimizing Ecotourism and Organic Cultivation through Social Media at the Earth Human Organic Garden Farmer Group in Pejeng Kangin Village". The activities carried out are holding an organic market every Saturday at Jaba Pura Desa and introducing tour packages around Pejeng Kangin Village by crossing rice fields and organic gardens and enjoying the natural panorama of Pejeng Kangin village, Saturday (30/9/2023).

This Organic Market is a Village PKK activity where the products sold are harvested from the garden in the PKK's house yard. The organic products sold are vegetables, local fruit, tubers, spices, apart from that there are also egg products, tanusan oil, traditional snacks and various herbal preparations as well as traditional home cooking.

During almost 3 (three) months of activities in the village, PPK Ormawa Himagrotek helped provide various vegetable seeds and fish seeds and provided assistance services to the Earth Human Organic Garden Farmers Group and the Village PKK Group with the aim of being able to increase agricultural and fisheries productivity among the village community. and able to provide additional income to the Village PKK.

Apart from that, the tour package that was highlighted was the "Organic" Village Tour Package in collaboration with the local Pokdarwis which was able to increase the number of tourist visits to the village by almost 100 percent. This was proven when the Organic Market event was attended by hundreds of foreign tourists who were enthusiastic about shopping and enjoying a tour around the village. The Ormawa Himagrotek PPK program received extraordinary support from Village Officials and the Chair of Pokdarwis I Made Astawa, according to him, this activity was direct practice by students in synergy with the village program and the benefits were immediately felt by the people of Pejeng Kangin Village.

This Organic Market activity was attended by USCC Secretary Bima Kumara Dwi Atmaja representing the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Reviewer, Coordinator of Agroecotechnology Study Program, Dr. Ida Ayu Putri Darmawati, Assistant Lecturer Ni Wayan Sri Sutari, S.P., M.P Village Head, Hamlet Head, Pokdarwis Chair, Chair and Management of the Village PKK Driving Team and the Earth Human Organic Garden Farmers Group.

According to Assistant Lecturer Ni Wayan Sri Sutari emphasized that the Organic Market and Village Tour Tour will be routinely held every Saturday every 2 (two) Sundays and is being designed professionally by the Ormawa Himagrotek PPK Team supported by the Village to immediately launch it as the Pejeng Kangin Tourism Village by collaborating with other related departments in Gianyar Regency and Bali Province. Support from institutions is also highly expected so that in the future they will be able to act as promotional agents and visit the Organic Market and enjoy organic tour packages in Pejeng Kangin Village.
