Commemorating 61st Anniversary, Udayana University Holds Blood Donation, Targets 400 Blood Bags

Denpasar - As part of the celebration of the 61st Anniversary of Udayana University (Unud), a blood donation social activity was held at the Agrocomplex Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, Friday (8/9/2023). This blood donation is routinely carried out on a series of Anniversaries, and on this occasion the committee is targeting 400 bags of blood. This blood donation event is open to the academic community, government agencies and the general public.

Dr. Gede Suarta as the coordinator of this event said that this year's blood donation activity involved the Unud academic community and the surrounding community with a target of 400 blood bags which would later be distributed to 7 Blood Donor Units (UDD) in Bali such as Prof. Ngoerah, PMI and hospitals in the district. In the blood collection process, PMI is involved at both provincial and district or city levels. This time blood bags will be prioritized for Karangasem Regency which is currently experiencing a blood shortage.

Dr. Ketut Adi Atmika as Deputy Chair of the Committee for the 61st Anniversary of Udayana University said that the blood donation activity which was coupled with the anniversary celebration, his party also collaborated with Unud Hospital, Healthy Campus and PMI. It is hoped that the interest of the academic community will be large enough to participate, so that the target number of blood bags can be achieved. His party also said that on the same day a series of anniversary commemorations were also carried out for dedication at the Penning, which of course was related to Tridharma activities.

Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana also participated as a donor in this blood donation activity. He appreciated the implementation of this blood donation activity because the need for blood in Bali Province is still very much needed. "We hope that today we will get lots of blood bags to help people in need according to their respective blood groups," said the Vice Rector.

Prof. Ngakan Suardana also invited the entire academic community of Udayana University to jointly donate a drop of blood which is of course very beneficial for people in need. In this activity, free health checks were also carried out from Unud Hospital. For those who have become donors, free vitamins and basic necessities are also provided by the committee.
