117 Foreign Students from 18 Countries Participate in the Bali International Program on Asian Studies (BIPAS) at Udayana University

The BIPAS Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University (FIB Unud) held the "Opening Ceremony and Orientation Day Bali International Program on Asian Studies (BIPAS) Autumn Semester 2023" at Widya Sabha Mandala Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra FIB Unud Nias Campus Denpasar, Tuesday (5/9/2023).

Anak Agung Sagung Shanti Sari Dewi, SS., M.Hum as the BIPAS Program Coordinator in his report said that in the previous semester the implementation of the BIPAS program took place in a hybrid manner, namely a combination of online and offline, and in this semester BIPAS was no longer held online, the entire learning process carried out offline at the BIPAS Bukit Jimbaran Campus with the support of various online media.

The number of BIPAS students in this semester is 117 people from 18 different countries including Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iran, Kosovo, Lithuania, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine, US. The BIPAS program in this semester offers 14 courses in various fields of study, where each student can choose three to seven courses. Indonesian is a compulsory subject for all BIPAS students.

Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation & Information Prof. I Putu Gede Adiatmika conveyed that on behalf of the Academic Community of Udayana University he would like to welcome all BIPAS Autumn Semester 2023 student participants at the Udayana University Campus, which is the oldest and largest university in Bali and is also one of the well-known campuses in Eastern Indonesia. BIPAS students will take part in lecture activities for six months and students have the opportunity to get to know Udayana University with various activities according to the curriculum and also know about Bali in particular and Indonesia in general.

The hope is that with the various activities of BIPAS students at Udayana University, both field practice and workshops will gain more experience while in Bali. In addition, the Vice Rector also gave several important messages regarding what may be done and what may not be done while undergoing lectures at Unud considering the many sacred areas that Bali has. While in Bali, students will find many interesting spots/areas to take photos for uploading on Instagram/other social media, however, you also need to know that there are several places/spots/areas that are prohibited in Bali. So please find out first which ones can be used as photo backgrounds and which ones can't.

2023 marks the 15th year of collaboration between Udayana University and Asia Exchange, and it is hoped that the collaboration between the two parties will be even stronger in the future.
