The 5th ICBME and 2nd ICIAT Held in Bali, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University Becomes the Host
The 5th International Conference on Bioscience and Medical Engineering (ICBME) together (Joint Conference) with the 2nd International Conference on Innovative Agricultural Technology (ICIAT) will again be held in Bali from 30 to 31 August 2023 at the Four Points Hotel by Sheraton, Ungasan. This activity was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology representing the Rector of Udayana University by presenting two keynote speakers namely Dr. Gyorgy Szekely (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Jeddah Saudi Arabia) and Prof. Sakae Shibusawa (Professor Emeritus Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Japan).
Chief Executive Ir. Ida Bagus Wayan Gunam, MP., Ph.D said that this joint conference aims to showcase significant research progress in Nanotechnology research in the field of Biosciences & Medical Engineering, as well as sustainable agri-food systems in agricultural technology. The number of conference participants was 195 participants from 14 different countries both for ICBME & ICIAT 2023. These countries include Turkey, Nigeria, India, Philippines, Japan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Nepal, Thailand, Taiwan, Australia, Malaysia and Indonesia. This conference was also held in the context of the 61st Anniversary of Udayana University.
This joint conference was held in cooperation between the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University and the Department of Biosciences, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia; Department of Biotechnology, International Islamic University Malaysia; Ondokuz Mayıs University; Tunghai University, Thammasat University, Australian Catholic University, and Gadjah Mada University.
“This joint conference covers a broad field with various disciplines such as biosciences, biomedicine, biology, agricultural technology, and nanotechnology. Therefore, this joint conference can be a forum for researchers, academics, professionals, and students to exchange ideas, knowledge, and experiences in related fields," said the Chief Executive.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Udayana University, in his speech read by the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Prof. I Made Anom Sutrisna Wijaya said that this joint conference was held to highlight significant research regarding advances in nanotechnology research in the fields of bioscience and medical engineering as well as agricultural technology, especially digital transformation and technology for sustainable agricultural food systems. This event aims to bring together scientists and academics in the field of biosciences so they can discuss and share expertise, experience and expand networking. The Rector appreciated the efforts of all participants, especially all outstanding scientists or invited foreign speakers, for coming to Bali and sharing their expertise at the conference.
The Rector hopes that this conference will be useful and can provide new ideas and strategies for implementing Bioscience, Agricultural Technology, Medical Engineering and Nanotechnology in industry and everyday life.
