Welcoming Darmasiswa RI 2023/2024, Darmasiswa Management at Udayana University Participated in Darmasiswa Coordination, Orientation and Assistance Meetings
Jakarta – Thursday (31/08/2023), Coordinator of the International Affairs Office of Udayana University (KUI Unud) and P.A.A. Senja Pratiwi, Ph.D. who is the manager of Darmasiswa at Udayana University, attended the coordination meeting, arrival orientation and assistance for Darmasiswa RI for the 2023/2024 academic year on 29 – 31 August 2023 at the Pullman Central Park Hotel, Jakarta. This event was attended by 306 Darmasiswa from 71 countries and 66 universities throughout Indonesia as Darmasiswa administrators.
The Darmasiswa Program, which is the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aims to increase and foster interest in Indonesian language and culture among citizens of other countries. This program is also designed to increase cooperation and strengthen cultural ties between nations and increase recognition of Indonesian in the international world (Go Bahasa Indonesia) as a popular international language after English.
During the orientation and mentoring activities, the Indonesian Darmasiswa were provided with various information related to cooperation between countries, "Cross Cultural Understanding", financing and financial reporting procedures as well as various other materials that were useful for the Darmasiswa to prepare themselves for their new life in Indonesia. In this activity, the Udayana University Darmasiswa management also had the opportunity to listen to presentations and discuss directly with the relevant ministries and also with four Udayana University Darmasiswa members who came from China, Japan, Poland and South Korea.
Nanoko Fujimura, Udayana University Darmasiswa from Japan, said that he was very interested in the culture and natural beauty of Bali so he decided to choose Udayana University for the 2023 Darmasiswa program. He also said that Udayana University has many foreign students from various countries, so he hopes to get a perspective. more widely about various things from other foreign students. In line with her colleague, Karolina Zuzanna Goetz, Darmasiswa from Poland, hopes to be a cultural bridge between Indonesia and countries in the world and hopes that her Indonesian language skills and knowledge of Indonesian culture can be used for her future career.
The event ended on August 31 2023 with Darmasiswa being picked up by the managers who are in charge of the program and then together they went to their respective universities.
