180 Lecturers from PTN/PTS throughout Bali Participate in Peerti Training at Udayana University

Udayana University (Unud) through the Institute for Development, Learning and Quality Assurance (LP3M) is holding a 2023 Instructional Technique Basic Skills Development Training (Pekerti) which is opened online through a Webex Meeting by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja representing the Rector of Udayana University, Monday (21/08/2023). This Pekerti training will take place online for 6 (six) days from 21 to 26 August 2023 and will be attended by 180 teaching lecturers from State Universities (PTN) / Private Universities (PTS) throughout Bali.

Head of LP3M Prof. I Nengah Sujaya conveyed that the target of implementing Pekerti is to provide training for young lecturers, because generally the lecturers who have just been appointed are dominant not from institutions or Teaching Colleges, so they do not understand teaching techniques so that students can easily understand the learning process. For this reason, it is important for young lecturers to be trained in how to teach, then before that there is a series of how to prepare teaching materials or learning materials and how to teach and assess teaching results.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at Udayana University, Prof. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja said that this Pekerti training was needed for Higher Education to develop a special strategy in addressing the quality of education and variations in mastery of science and technology. Udayana University is believed to be an institution that is allowed to conduct character training because it is an institution that is allowed to provide training certificates and can be recognized by the Ministry.

In essence, the management of education at Udayana University is based on the noble values ​​of local culture which are a reference for the basic development of the Udayana University academic community, namely the Tri Hita Katana, the symbol of Widya Cakra Prawartana, and the motto of Udayana University, namely Taki-takining Sewaka Guna Widya. The Vice Rector also expressed his highest gratitude and appreciation to the facilitators who are willing to share in this training and hopes that the facilitators will optimally equip, provide direction and guidance to the participants.
