PKKMB Udayana University in 2023, Actualize Student Potential

Udayana University (Unud) carried out an Introduction to New Student Campus Life (PKKMB) activity which lasted for two days, 15 and 16 August 2023. The PKKMB, which was attended by around 6,500 students, and also attended by 185 old students, took the theme "Actualization of Academic Potential of Students, Wise, and Mature According to the Vision of Udayana University". The PKKMB was opened directly by the Rector of Udayana University which was marked by sticking a kayon and embedding the participant's nametag.

PKKMB Committee Chairman I Made Sarjana, said that PKKMB 2023 this time was a bit different from the previous PKKMB, because this time Unud gave space to students as committees to play an active role in its implementation in order to provide a new color and atmosphere with new thoughts, full of innovation according to the current rhythm. Even so, this PKKMB still refers to the guidelines, rules, values and rules of the game and is inseparable from the ethics of introducing campus life itself. And the motto of PKKMB this time is CHAANAKYA HANASTHA GYANI DIVESA (Students who master knowledge, are mature, and are wise).

Rector of Udayana University Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng., IPU.said, PKKMB is a series of campus life introduction activities for new students to provide an introduction to students in order to adapt to a variety of academic and student activities that can increase students' potential and creativity as well as self-innovation. PKKMB is also expected to be able to instill noble values (University Values) and educational philosophy of Udayana University for new students so as to increase pride in being part of Udayana University.

In order to mentally prepare and provide an overview of the learning system and life on campus, it is necessary to have PKKMB to accelerate adaptation to the university environment. In the era of competency-based higher education reform and higher education administration autonomy to increase competitiveness, the existence of paradoxical matters in the acceptance of students as new campus residents must end.

Various jargons of doctrinal aims and objectives have been replaced with objectives and benefits that can be described academically correctly, and are operationally feasible to implement. "Likewise, various forms of irregularities must be ended and replaced in the form of activities that can be monitored and evaluated openly by all parties involved," he said.

Through PKKMB activities it is hoped that new students will get enrichment in supporting Kemdikbudristek policies through the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program. In addition, it is hoped that there will be an increase in the sharpness of student analysis of the impact of globalization on the Indonesian nation.

PKKMB activities are mandatory for every new student at Udayana University. This is important so that every student has early readiness to adapt in the learning process. Besides that, it has been determined that every new graduate can take part in the graduation if he has been declared a pass in the PKKMB activity.

Therefore, students should be able to take part in this activity because Introduction to Campus Life is part of the academic culture. "Through our academic culture we will be able to increase the nation's competitiveness," he added.
