LPPM Udayana University Collaborates with OJK, Gives Special Provision of Literacy and Financial Inclusion Thematic KKN (KKNT LIK)
Institute for Research and Community Service at Udayana University (LPPM Unud) in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), conducted a debriefing on Financial Literacy and Inclusion Thematic KKN at OJK Office Region 8 Bali and Nusa Tenggara in Denpasar attended by students from 10 KKNT LIK Villages , DPL and a team of speakers from the LIK KKNT, Friday (16/6/2023).
This special debriefing event was attended by the Head of OJK Regional 8 Bali and Nusa Tenggara Kristrianti Puji Rahayu, SE, MBA and Chairman of LPPM I Nyoman Suarsana. In his remarks the Chairperson of LPPM said that financial literacy and inclusion are two aspects that are interrelated and have an important role in building a sustainable society, both economically, socially and healthily. This information is very important because financial and literacy issues enter all aspects of life and target all parties. Students at the LIK KKN location will become agents of change related to literacy and finance. It was also conveyed that there were 160 KKN students placed in 10 LIK OJK Thematic KKN locus villages in 8 districts.
The Head of the Bali and Nusa Tenggara Regional OJK in his remarks as well as opening the special debriefing event said that financial inclusion aims to provide fair access and participation for all individuals in the financial system, including communities that were previously marginalized. If Unud is superior, independent and cultured, then OJK has the tagline 'mekarya ulian tresna' (work with heart). To reach the community, Financial Literacy and Inclusion must touch the heart of the community (touch them right in their heart). Everything cannot be measured by what is obtained for oneself, but it must be reversed, what can I (students) contribute to my community? and students must be able to contribute to the 10 LIK KKNT locus villages in Bali. Students must regard this KKN program as a vocation and must be able to contribute to Bali. The Head of OJK said that the LIK KKNT program with Unud was the first program carried out by OJK and Unud, and became a pilot project for the LIK KKNT in Indonesia.
The aim of KKN LIK is to introduce the benefits and risks of financial products and services, increase public understanding of consumer protection, increase public awareness of illegal online investments and loans as well as digital financial crime, increase access to finance for the community and business actors, and the younger generation as literacy agents and financial inclusion.
