Collaborate with PT. Pertamina International Refinery RU V Balikpapan, Udayana University Ready to Send Apprentice Students
Udayana University (Unud) cooperates with PT. Pertamina International Refinery (KPI) RU V Balikpapan which was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the Language Room of the Rectorate Building, Jimbaran Campus, Friday (16/06/2023). The signing was attended by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information representing the Rector of Udayana University, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Coordinator of the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, and the General Manager of PT. KPI RU V Balikpapan and its staff.
Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information Unud Prof. I Putu Gede Adiatmika on this occasion introduced a glimpse of Udayana University which currently has 13 faculties and 1 postgraduate program which in the educational process refers to the direction of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, where one of the University's Key Performance Indicators (IKU) is asked to success of the Independent Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program, in which students are given the freedom to take various off-campus activities as much as 20 credits per semester.
The Faculty of Engineering, especially the Mechanical Engineering Studies Program which initiated this collaboration plans to send students to do internships at PT.KPI. In addition, through this MoU it is hoped that it will be able to cover various activities, such as practitioners from PT. KPI who will teach on campus or lecturers who participate in carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education at PT. KPI. "With this collaboration, we will have a lot of synergy between the two parties to help each other, complement each other within the framework of Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka," said the Vice Rector.
While the General Manager of PT. KPI RU V Balikpapapan Arafat Bayu Nugroho said on this occasion that this was the first MoU owned by PT. KPI RU V Balikpapan with educational institutions in Indonesia. It is hoped that this collaboration will become a form of PT. KPI RU V Balikpapan as an oil and gas industry has an obligation to ensure that students have qualified potential and are ready to work when they graduate and are involved in oil and gas industries in Indonesia.
