Udayana University Holds Outreach and Technical Guidance on Business Travel Overseas

Udayana University (Unud) carried out outreach and technical guidance on Overseas Business Trips on Wednesday (31/5/2023) at The Trans Resort, Seminyak. The socialization participants were 80 people consisting of Faculty and Postgraduate Leaders, Heads of Institutions, and related units within Unud and there were also participants from LLDikti Region 8, ISI Denpasar, Undiksha and PNB and students.

Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information Unud Prof. Dr. dr. I Putu Gede Adiatmika, M.Kes said, Unud runs an internationalization program where each faculty has been directed to carry out internationalization activities both through foreign cooperation, through international accreditation processes and other activities that support internationalization.

One form of follow-up to this internationalization is sending lecturers and students abroad because so far more outsiders have come to Unud while Unud's arrivals to institutions abroad are still small because it is related to the budget.

In order to travel abroad, there are many requirements, one of which is to complete a foreign travel permit. In the process of services provided by Unud to lecturers, teaching staff, students, there are many things that are not mutually understood so that it affects the length of the process for official travel permits abroad.

"That's why we organized this event. The goal is for us to gain a common understanding, who gets assignments abroad and the requirements because they are related to financing," said Vice Rector.

State Secretariat Associate Expert Policy Analyst Taufiq Bagus Prakoso Ismujati explained the importance of business trips abroad. In accordance with the 2020-2024 RPJMN, it is necessary to develop internationally competitive human resources. "Because we want to try Indonesian society in general and civil servants to be able to compete globally to become human resources who can become international talents and bring Indonesia to become a more advanced country in the future and compete internationally," he said.

This effort is an HR approach program which is a national priority towards advanced Indonesia in 2045. The requirements are quite easy, including invitations from overseas institutions, activity schedules, letters of application from sending agencies, and others.

The material presented in the socialization and technical guidance included the Strategy and Policy for Managing Foreign Service Travel delivered by Taufiq Bagus Prakoso Ismujati from the Bureau of Foreign Technical Cooperation (KTLN) of the Ministry of State Secretariat. Material for Submission of Foreign Service Travel Permits for Leaders and Lecturers at Udayana University by Sarifudin, S.Kom from the Bureau of Cooperation and Public Relations of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Education and Culture. Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology's Foreign Service Permit Material by Rian Sari from the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology.

In his material, the resource person said that civil servants are required to submit an official travel document abroad and for the submission process, the State Secretariat has the SIMPEL application and the Ministry of Education and Culture has SILANDRI. Currently there are 94 visa-free countries for service passports. There are 54 students and 1,250 lecturers/trainees who have submitted PDLN as of May 2023.
