A Form of Concern for Education, Dharma Wanita Persatuan of Udayana University Gives Scholarship Aid
Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Udayana University (Unud) handed over scholarship aid funds to 24 children on Friday (16/9) at Ruang Bangsa, Bukit Jimbaran Rectorate. The awarding of this scholarship is a routine work program of the DWP Unud which is held annually in September ahead of the Unud Anniversary.
Head of DWP Unud, Mrs. Dayu Bulan Antara said that the scholarship recipients are the children of employees at Unud and are currently studying in elementary and junior high schools. Scholarship recipients come from all faculties in Unud plus the children of the head office contract employees. The assistance provided is not only in the form of education funds, but also for school equipment, considering that offline learning has been routinely carried out. Scholarship recipients are different every year to create equality for the children of employees in the Unud environment.
Mrs. Dayu Bulan Antara said that although the financial assistance provided was not large, it was hoped that it could ease the burden on parents in the early months of the new school year. For example, to buy school supplies. By holding this scholarship awarding event on campus, it is hoped that the scholarship recipients will be motivated to continue their education to college.
The program, which was prepared by the women of DWP Unud, is a form of concern for education, especially the education of children. Education is a very important need today. So that the assistance provided is expected to provide motivation to strive to continue education to a higher level. Next year, it is planned that the assistance provided will be increased in value. "And for equity, the number of scholarship recipients will be increased because many contract employees already have children. But this year the problem is, in the faculty there are many young couples who do not have school children, so to meet the quota of scholarship recipients, scholarships are given to children from other faculties. ," he explained.
Representatives of the parents of scholarship recipients, Ni Kadek Suartini, thanked the DWP Unud who had compiled this scholarship program. "This program is very useful for us, especially me who has triplets, this assistance is very helpful and makes it easier for us," he said. He hopes that the scholarship recipients will be enthusiastic about learning, always be healthy and become the pride of their parents.
