Udayana University is Ready to Participate in the Puan Maharani Cup

In the context of Udayana University (Unud) participation in the Puan Maharani Cup, a meeting was held led by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana at the Nusa Rectorate Room, Bukit Jimbaran Campus, Friday (2/9/22). The meeting was attended by the Coordinator of Interest, Reasoning and Information, the Players and the Official of the Basketball Team of Udayana University.

The intercollegiate basketball tournament throughout Indonesia titled Puan Maharani Cup 2022 will be held in Jakarta on September 9-18 2022. This tournament is expected to contribute to national basketball, including the regeneration and breeding of young athletes. In addition, this tournament is also one of the efforts to revive the basketball eurofia which was forced to suspended animation during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cokorda Rai Adi Pramartha, Ph.D as the supervisor of the Unud Basketball UKM said that the Udayana University basketball team planned to depart from Bali on September 6, 2022 and later it would begin with a practice match with several universities in Jakarta. This basketball match will be attended by several participants from universities in Indonesia such as from Sumatra, Java, Bali and from Irian Jaya and others. "So this is a good thing for Udayana University before heading to POMNAS", he said.

On this occasion, it was also conveyed that Felix Tobias as Head Coach was also very helpful in preparing the Basketball Team to go to the Puan Maharani Cup, because the accommodation and needs that the Team would need were prepared by Felix. There are 10 players who will be included in the Puan Maharani Cup match and all of them are new students of Unud in 2022. Cokorda rai hopes that the Unud basketball team can last a long time and can understand each other's character and later can advance to a better event.

Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana is very supportive and conveys his pride for the Udayana University Basketball Team that has joined today. In addition to studying, it is also expected that students will be able to participate in activities in UKM. Thanks were also conveyed to Felix as the Head Coach for funding this Basketball Team, and to Aldion Christian Aditia as the Team Manager. He also hopes that the Udayana University Basketball Team can win a medal at the Puan Maharani Cup event in Jakarta. This tournament is a warm-up event to face POMNAS later. Hopefully this team will always be solid, keep practicing diligently, and bring the good name of Udayana University to achieve achievements.
