Faculty of Humanities of Udayana University Hosts Dean Meeting of Faculty of Humanities Universities in Indonesia
The Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University (Unud) hosted the Dean Meeting of the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) throughout Indonesia at the Batukaru Room, Hotel Inna Sindhu Sanur, this event was officially opened by the Rector of Udayana University Prof. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng. The IPU was attended by the Deans and Vice Deans of the Faculty of Humanities throughout Indonesia as well as Study Program Coordinators at the Faculty of Humanities of Unud, Friday (29/7/2022).
The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Unud, Dr. Made Sri Satyawati, S.S., M.Hum, in his report describes the history of the meeting of the Deans of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences throughout Indonesia. “The FIB Deans' Association was initiated in 2019 and previous meetings were limited to online meetings. Previously we held a meeting related to how to create an Independent Accreditation Institution by inviting the Chairman of BAN PT. Based on the meeting, one thing that is needed is a declaration from all FIB deans in Indonesia”, he explained. The Dean of FIB Unud is optimistic that the results of this meeting will have a positive impact on all the Faculty of Cultural Sciences present.
One of the representatives of the Dean of FIB in Indonesia, namely the Dean of FIB Universitas Airlangga, Prof. Dr. Purnawan Basundoro, M. Hum. said that the purpose of this meeting was to reconnect the results of discussions at previous Dean meetings, namely efforts to form an independent accreditation agency because in the future study program accreditation must be carried out by LAM. “All accreditations that must be carried out for Study Programs must be carried out by an independent accreditation agency. Therefore, it is hoped that today we can form the embryo of an independent accreditation agency for the humanities scope,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Unud Prof. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng. IPU, in his speech conveyed his welcome and thanks to the Deans who had the opportunity to attend for choosing Unud as the host of this meeting. Prof. Antara also stated that FIB Unud is one of the proud faculties of the Unud academic community because FIB is the forerunner of Udayana University itself. Prof. Antara appreciated the idea of forming an association of FIB Deans throughout Indonesia and the establishment of LAM PT for humanities study programs. "My hope is that our good intentions will soon be approved by God Almighty so that later, already confident, we will form an association that has tremendous benefits for all of us, say in terms of academics and non-academics".
The Deans of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences throughout Indonesia were from Udayana University, Airlangga University, Andalas University, Sebelas Maret University, Jember University, Hasanuddin University, Padjajaran University, Brawijaya University, Diponegoro University, North Sumatra University, Halu Oleo University, University of Gadjah Mada, University of Indonesia, Mulawarman University, Sam Ratulangi University, Jenderal Soedirman University, Khairun University, and the Dean of FKIP Jambi University jointly declared the establishment of an association of FIB Deans throughout Indonesia under the name of the Association of Indonesian Deans for Humanities (ADHI).
After the declaration of the establishment of ADHI, the event continued with the discussion of AD/ART ADHI, discussion and declaration of the establishment of LAM-PT Faculty of Cultural Sciences throughout Indonesia under the name Institute for Independent Accreditation of Higher Education Humanities (LAM-PT HUM). The event was followed by the election of the Management of the Association of Indonesian Humanities Deans (ADHI) with the decision to choose (1) the Dean of FIB, Udayana University, Dr. Made Sri Satyawati, S.S., M.Hum. as Chairman, (2) Dean of FIB Universitas Airlangga Prof. Dr. Purnawan Basundoro, M. Hum. as secretary and (3) Dean of FIB, University of North Sumatra Dr. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A. as treasurer. In addition to ADHI management, on the same occasion, PT Humaniora's LAM Embryo Founder, the Dean of FIB Andalas University, Prof. Dr. Herwandi, M. Hum. and the Dean of FKIP Jambi University Prof. Dr. M. Rusdi, S.Pd., M.Sc. It was also agreed that Yogyakarta would be the meeting place for ADHI in 2023.
