Celebrating 21st Anniversary, Doctoral Study Program of Cultural Studies, Faculty of Cultural Sciences Udayana University Holds Public Policy Seminar in Cultural Studies
The Doctoral Study Program (S3) in Cultural Studies Faculty of Humanities Udayana University held a Seminar "Public Policy in Cultural Studies" coupled with a Reunion in celebration of the 21st Anniversary at the Ksirarnawa Building, Taman Budaya Art Center, Bali Province, Monday (18/07/2022). This seminar presented two speakers, namely Prof. Dr. Tjok Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, M.Si (Vice Governor of Bali) and Prof. Dr. I Nengah Dasi Astawa, M.Si (Head of LLDIKTI Region VIII 2014-2022 period) with the moderator Dr. Ni Wayan Widhiasthini, S.Sos., M.Si from Undiknas. All of them are alumni of the Cultural Studies Doctoral Program. This anniversary celebration was also attended by the Rector of Udayana University, the Dean and Chair of the Faculty of Humanities Senate, Study Programs Coordinator, Head of Ikayana, Lecturers, Professors, Alumni and students of the Cultural Studies Study Program. The theme carried in the Commemoration of the 21st Anniversary of the Doctoral Study Program of Cultural Studies was "Critical in Layers, Jaya Berkarya".
Coordinator of Doctoral Study Program of Cultural Studies Prof. I Nyoman Darma Putra, Ph.D expressed his gratitude for the support of alumni, so that this event took place as expected. At the age of 21 this year, the Cultural Studies Doctoral Program has 264 alumni. Under the direction of the Rector and Dean, his party will work hard to improve graduates on time. This anniversary celebration is also an effort to build enthusiasm in cultural studies. The study program has produced many Doctors who have developed cultural studies in their respective institutions.
While the Rector of Udayana University Prof. I Nyoman Gde Antara in his speech conveyed the work program and future development plans, where at this time Unud has won the Superior accreditation. The Rector hopes that students can graduate on time in the Doctoral Study Program of Cultural Studies and there must be many who graduate on time. His party has also made changes to the S2 and S3 academic guidelines to support this.
The Rector appreciates the implementation of this seminar and alumni are expected to provide input for curriculum renewal so that it is relevant to the present. Our work is enormous to update the study program to suit the needs of the community. At least 70 percent of graduates on time in Study Programs. For that let's do the things that need to be improved. The Rector also expressed his pride for the alumni who have been able to bring the good name of the university.
In the discussion session, it is hoped that cultural studies can become an umbrella for all existing sciences and it is concluded that public policy has a strong relevance to cultural studies.
