Establish Cooperation, Udayana University with BPS Bali Province Carry out the Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding
Udayana University collaborated with the Central Statistics Agency of Bali Province which was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the Rector of Unud Prof. I Nyoman Gde Antara with the Head of the Bali Province BPS Hanif Yahya in the Language Room of the Jimbaran Campus Rectorate Building, Thursday (25/11/2021). Also attending the event were the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information at Unud, Secretary of USDI, Coordinator of Cooperation and Public Relations and the spokesman for Unud.
Rector of Unud Prof. I Nyoman Gde Antara in his speech said that previously a meeting had been held with the Head of BPS Bali and the signing of this MoU was the beginning of the collaboration that would be implemented. In the meeting, a student internship plan was discussed in the context of MBKM and the initiation of a statistical concentration in the Mathematics FMIPA Study Program which could later become one of the study programs at Unud. BPS Bali is expected to support the realization of the program. After this MoU will be followed up through a more specific cooperation agreement. BPS will also open a statistics corner at Unud, where the system can be connected so that if you need data from BPS, you can access it from there. Besides that, there is still much that both parties can cooperate in the future. One of them is in improving the quality of human resources at BPS through various study programs at Udayana University. This collaboration is expected to support the performance of both institutions.
Meanwhile, the Head of BPS for the Province of Bali, Hanif Yahya, expressed his appreciation for facilitating the collaboration to be established. This is a follow-up to the initiation that was carried out. BPS is one of the leading sectors in statistical development, and is obliged to provide guidance and provide a good understanding to the public regarding the use of statistical data for policy and planning. As is well known, this development is based on data received by BPS. Regarding this MoU, it is also a form of BPS responsibility as a coach, where BPS must also be able to provide an understanding of statistics, one of which is in the education aspect. We will do a more detailed collaboration, how we can provide knowledge related to statistics to academics and build a Statistical Corner in universities. In this corner, we can provide services that are closer to students and lecturers to support their research. This corner will be managed through the collaboration of the two institutions. Through this MoU, it is also hoped that there will be a lot of collaboration and cooperation in the field of statistics.
