Udayana University Postgraduate Program Holds First Odd Semester Lectures for FY 2021/2022
Udayana University Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M. Eng., IPU officially opened the inaugural lecture of the Udayana University Postgraduate Program for new students of the Profession, Masters, Doctoral and PPDS Programs which took place online, Thursday (2/09/2021).
This inaugural lecture was attended by the Rector, Chair of the Senate, Director of the Postgraduate Program, Deans, Heads of Institutions, Heads of Bureaus, Vice Director II, Head of SPI, Heads of UPT, and Coordinators of Masters, Doctoral and PPDS Professional Studies Programs at Udayana University.
Vice Director I for Academic Affairs in his report said that this inaugural lecture is an activity at the University level which is held regularly every semester, which in this case the Postgraduate Program is assigned by the Chancellor as the organizer.
This inaugural lecture was attended by 1,196 new students including 173 students from the professional program, 144 students from the Specialist Profession Program, 666 students from the Masters Study Program and 213 students from the Doctoral Study Program. This activity aims to introduce new students to the Vision, Mission and objectives of Udayana University, understand the learning process at the Professional, Masters and Doctoral levels, understand the academic atmosphere and the main supporting facilities for supporting learning such as the Information Resource Unit, as well as access to scientific publications provided by the University. Udayana. During the inaugural lecture, Udayana University leaders were also introduced to new students.
Meanwhile, the Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara conveyed his welcome and welcome to the new students on the Udayana University campus. In the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, we are asked to understand data literacy, technological literacy and human literacy. So, in this pandemic era, these abilities should be well understood, so that they are able to take advantage of existing technology, understand existing data and continue to prioritize the human side as users, implementers and recipients of technological advances in carrying out the lecture process. The Chancellor also invited all students, like it or not, to be ready and able to take advantage of technology in this 4.0 industrial revolution era to achieve the goals set in attending education at Udayana University.
As a higher education institution that has a vision of becoming an institution that produces excellent, independent and cultured graduates, Udayana University always applies quality higher education standards in accordance with the National Higher Education Standards, although the teaching and learning process must be carried out online. The quality standards applied are a common guide to be able to carry out quality education, research and community service processes.
The Rector advised all students to get to know and understand Udayana University in general and the Study Programs they follow in particular. The expected understanding is to understand the profile of the study program, the vision and mission of the study program, the educational process, the evaluation system, lecturers and education staff, facilities and infrastructure as well as the necessary financing. This is important, because it involves the readiness of students and the strategies that must be done to be able to complete their studies properly and on time.
There are four presentations of material given in this inaugural lecture, namely 1). Education Policy at Udayana University by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs (Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, MP), 2). Philosophy of Postgraduate Education by the Chairperson of the Unud Senate (Prof. Dr. Ir. Dewa Ngurah Suprapta, M.Sc), 3). Information System at Udayana University by the Secretary of the Human Resources Unit (Dr. Dewa Made Wiharta, ST., MT.) 4). Journal and Publication Information (JUPI) from the Head of the Scientific Publication Journal Unit (Ni Made Ary Esta Dewi Wirastuti, ST, M.Sc., Ph.D).
