Opening Opportunities for Education and Business Cooperation between Indonesia-Russia, Unud Collaborates with ANO Makassar to Hold a Webinar

Denpasar - Udayana University (Unud) in collaboration with ANO Makassar held a Web Seminar "Education and Business Cooperation between Indonesia and Russia" (Opportunities, Challenges, and Benefits), Monday (26/7/2021). The webinar takes place online through the Zoom Meeting application and is limited to around 100 participants. This Webinar is held as a follow-up to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Udayana University and ANO Makassar (a non-profit organization from Russia that bridges education and business cooperation between Indonesia and Russia). The MoU signed by the Parties on June 23, 2021 is expected to be a big door for education and business cooperation between universities and business people in Indonesia and Russia and surrounding countries in the future.

The purpose of this Webinar is to provide an overview of the development of cooperation in the education and business sectors, to find out the opportunities, challenges, and benefits of education and business cooperation between Indonesia and Russia and surrounding countries. Through this webinar, it is hoped that it will open the horizons of all parties and encourage the realization of cooperation in various fields, especially education and business.

Rector of Unud Prof. Dr. dr. AA Raka Sudewi, Sp.S(K) in his speech said that international cooperation with ANO Makassar-Russia is one of the strategic steps of the many international collaborations that have been established by Udayana University in order to improve the quality of learning and the quality of graduates, through the implementation of The Tridharma of Higher Education is education, research and community service. The programs that will be implemented need to be planned as well as possible so that this collaboration can continue in order to accelerate the steps of Udayana University towards a World class university. Through this webinar, the Rector of Udayana University asked for support from the President of ANO Makassar to provide further assistance to the Udayana University team in exploring the potential for cooperation and preparing an action plan.

President of ANO Makassar, Mr. Anatoly Turdikulov in his speech gave his appreciation to Udayana University which has prepared this activity and also to the Ambassador and the resource persons. Through the implementation of this webinar, it is hoped that it will open up opportunities for cooperation between various regions in Russia and Indonesia, covering various fields of cooperation, including industry, trade, tourism and education. ANO Makassar was established in 2012 in Russia with its main activities to increase cooperation between various regions in Russia and establish cooperative relations in the fields of education, commercial and science. After a visit to Udayana University, the idea emerged for Unud to start medical tourism activities, so that cooperation will be focused on the medical cluster. Through collaboration with Udayana University with the network owned by ANO Makassar in Russia, later ANO will bring in medical devices that do not yet exist in Indonesia to improve medical quality, especially at the Udayana University Hospital.

Also attending this Webinar was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, Jose Antonio Marato Tavares and several resource persons namely the Former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, Prof. M. Wahid Supriyadi, Vice President of ANO Makassar, Prof. Dr. Sudaryanto Yanto, Director of APEC Negotiations and International Organizations at the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Farid Amir, Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Budiman Sudjatmiko and Staff Member of the Wantimpres, Jerry Lumelle as well as moderator Director of BPU Unud Dr. Sayu Ketut Sutrisna Dewi. The material presented included the Potential for Education and Business Cooperation between Indonesia and Russia and surrounding countries and the Experience of Cooperation in Indonesian-Russian Higher Education.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia (LBBP) to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, Jose Antonio Marato Tavares, on this occasion expressed his appreciation for the cooperation between Unud and ANO Makassar and hoped that this collaboration could be beneficial for Unud and all its partners. As is known, Russia has the ability in the field of science and technology which is very advanced, the Russian government also pays great attention to the field of education. Therefore, it is very appropriate to make Russia a partner in the development of education in Indonesia. In 2021, the relationship between the two countries enters the age of 71 years, bilateral relations continue to develop rapidly and well, especially in the field of education. The Russian government itself pays great attention to cooperation in the field of education with Indonesia. The number of Indonesian students in Russia is more than 700 people and most of them are recipients of scholarships from the Russian Government.

The LBBP Ambassador continues to strive for Indonesia's scholarship quota to continue to be increased, so that more and more people are studying in Russia. Currently, there are 69 universities in Indonesia that collaborate with 65 institutions and universities in Russia. The Ambassador will fully support the cooperation that has been established and hopes that it will run smoothly and develop well in the future. Currently at the Embassy there is also an Education Attaché assigned by the Ministry to enhance cooperation between Russia and Indonesia in the fields of education and research. With this initiative, it opens up opportunities to develop cooperation between universities in Indonesia and Russia, and the Embassy will fully support for the welfare of the nation.
