UPT Bahasa Unud held the "Udayana Language Center Forum"
UPT Bahasa Udayana University held the "Udayana Language Center Forum" which took place online through the Cisco Webex Meeting application, Tuesday (23/3/2021). The forum with the theme "Reading Skills" presented two speakers, namely Prof. Ai Chun Yen from National Dong Hwa University Taiwan and Prof. I Nengah Sudipa, MA from the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University and as moderator Dr. IGA Aryani's wife, SS., M.Hum.
Head of UPT Languages Sang Ayu Isnu Maharani, S.S., M.Hum as well as the Organizing Committee said that this activity is the implementation of the fifth webinar besides that other activities have also been carried out, namely English language training for students and lecturers. The theme presented is regarding English language skills from a cultural perspective and a linguistic perspective. The webinar, which was attended by 187 participants, was also broadcast live streaming on YouTube Udayana TV. Sang Ayu Isnu Maharani expressed his appreciation for the support of all parties to UPT Bahasa for this activity.
Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences Dr. Made Sri Satyawati, SS., M.Hum. who represented the Chancellor in his speech giving appreciation to the speakers who were present and UPT Language held the Udayana Language Center Forum, which is a very good tool for the academic community, especially those who want to improve language skills, especially Reading Skills. This will also have an impact on improving the quality of human resources for the institution, where an academic is also required to improve his scientific insight. This insight will lead us to be able to share knowledge according to the needs of the times. In publication also requires Reading Skill to produce quality and reputable ones.
Speakers Prof. Ai Chun Yen delivered a material entitled Interdisciplinary Reading Power-Up which discussed Reading across the Disciplines, Disciplinary literacy and What should teachers be doing ?. Meanwhile, Prof. I Nengah Sudipa delivered material with the title Reading Skill: Linguistic Prespektives which reviews Lingusictic, Six Language Arts, Reading Comprehension and Reading Skills, How to Improve Reading Skills and Some notes on Reading Activities.
