Journal and Scientific Publication Unit (JUPI) Unud held "Socialization of Journal Financial Management Management" online via the Webex Meeting, Friday (19/2/2021).
The socialization was opened by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng by presenting four speakers: (1) Vice Rector for General Affairs and Finance Prof. Dr. I Gusti Bagus Wiksuana, SE. MS on Udayana University Financial Policy for Journals (2) Plt. Head of Planning and Finance Bureau of Udayana University I Dewa Gede Oka, SE on Technical Journal of Financial Management (3) Chairman of SPI (Internal Supervisory Unit) Dr. Udayana University. Drs. Dewa Gede Wirama, MSBA., Ak., CA with material on Supervision and Audit of Journal Financial Management and (4) Dr. Sayu Ketut Sutrisna Dewi, SE, MM, Director of the Unud Business Management Agency with material about the Udayana University Business Unit.
Also attending the socialization event was the Chair of USDI and the Chair of the Language Lab and 141 journal editors at Udayana University. The event was moderated by Dr. Ni Ketut Arismayanti, SSP.Par, M.Par.
Chairman of the JUPI Unit as well as Chair of the Organizing Committee Ir. Ni Made Ary Esta Dewi Wirastuti, ST., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM said that this activity was the first activity of the JUPI Unit in 2021 as a mandate from the JUPI Unit Coordination Meeting in December 2020, which aims to thoroughly analyze policies and procedures Manage journal finance at Unud. Apart from funding from the unit that manages the limited number of Prodi / Faculty / other unit journals, one other source of funding that can be done is the Article Proccessing Charge (APC) to authors whose articles are accepted for publication. Through this socialization, it is also hoped that financial policies and governance can be thoroughly discussed if the Article Proccessing Charge (APC) model is applied to authors whose articles are accepted for publication, so that the journal management team will know and be able to carry out legal money management. This is to support the development of a professional management management system so that the Management Team is able to deliver journals according to the criteria of national journal accreditation agencies and international indexing agencies.
While the Vice Chancellor Prof. I Nyoman Gde Antara gave his appreciation to the JUPI Team for starting the program in early 2021 with a very important event related to financial governance. The university currently has provided adequate budget and infrastructure. In accordance with what has been reported that 6 journals have registered to Scopus and if all are able to be indexed then the ranking will increase drastically, besides that there are also several journals that have increased SINTA's ranking. In terms of financial governance, it must be transparent and accountable, it is likely that many do not understand and in an effort to prevent administrative errors and doubts in executing POK, participants who take part in the socialization are expected to complete the activity, so that later there will be no more doubts in carrying out their duties. There are several problems that often occur in terms of financial governance and the resource persons present are expected to provide explanations related to financial governance issues. With this, in the future JUPI is expected to develop even better because this is important to support the performance contract of the Chancellor and support the rank of Udayana University both at the national and international levels.
