Improving the Skills of Veterinarians as a Preparation for Welcoming Global World Competition
In order to recognize and increase the skill in using ultrasound devices for practitioners, both young veterinarians and senior veterinarians, as well as academics at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, Udayana University Animal Hospital, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in collaboration with Indonesian Veterinary Association held a Seminar and Workshop Basic Ultrasonography and Compilation of Standard Operating Procedures. The event was held on Thursday (02/05/2019) at the 1st Floor Meeting Room of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University.
The event which was attended by 80 participants was not only to introduce and maximize the use of ultrasound tools, but also to prepare for global competition for veterinarians and students at the final level of Unud FKH. "So later veterinarians from Indonesia can compete with veterinarians from outside Indonesia who enter Indonesia, at least the veterinarian can do a diagnostic that is good, fast, and reliable." Said Drh. I Putu Gede Yudhi Arjentinia, M.Sc., Chairperson of the Committee for this event. The preparation of Operational Standard Procedure is also held as a rearrangement of the operational procedures for carrying out daily administration at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University.
Vice Dean for Academic and Planning FKH Unud, Prof. Dr. Drh. I Wayan Suardana, M.Si welcomed the implementation of the basic ultrasound workshop and the preparation of these operational standards for the development of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Unud, considering that in the near future FKH Unud will hold an accreditation program together with LAM PT-Kes.
"In the same year we also planned to propose that the study program at FKH Unud get the certification from AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance) so that, both activities constitute a component of fundamental assessment that has a plus value when we do accreditation program," explained Deputy Dean for Academic and Planning FKH Unud. He also hopes that the performance of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Udayana University, especially for standard operating procedures, will be even better because it is a criteria that is observed from AUN-QA reviewers.
