Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Udayana University Held the Main Event of Celebrating World Veterinary Day

 

 

The highlight of the World Veterinary Day (WVD) event officially took place on Saturday (30/04), this event carried a big theme, namely Upthrust: building resilience in veterinary medicine for better animal health care. The event was warmly welcomed by the arrival of the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, competition judges, lecturers, and all students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University.

 

 

This activity began with opening ceremony which was opened by Prof. Dr. Dr. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Si as the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University. “Hopefully this activity can introduce our profession to the general public because as we know that many people don't know our profession, even though we are as noble as human medicine, only we have a different focus. We focus on animal health and welfare,” said Prof. Dr. Dr. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Si when giving a speech.

 

The event was continued with animal fashion show from the jury as a form of introduction to the competition judges who often changed their names for one reason or another. Until finally three judges appeared, namely drh. Putu Henrywaesa Sudipa, M.Si, drh. Putu Devi Jayanti, S.KH., M.Sc, and drh. Anak Agung Gde Oka Dharmayudha, MP. Then, the event continued with a Pet Eating which was attended by five participants from various generations. Loud applause was heard when a dog named Cenil managed to become the first participant to finish his food during the fast-eating session. “I am very proud because all of you have been able to practice what you have learned in college. You already know the right food to give your pets," said drh. Putu Henrywaesa Sudipa, M.Si as the jury during the jury response session.

 

 

competition Pet Comic was also presented at the peak of the WVD 2022 event, the four participants performed very well. Even in the judge's response session, one of the judges did not hesitate to show who his favorite winner was. "I like Chrissyl Fiorell's performance the most, I like how she conveys the story she brings," said drh. Anak Agung Gde Oka Dharmayudha, MP. as a judge for the 2022 WVD competition.

 

 

The Pet Modeling competition, which was eagerly awaited by the participants, was the closing for other competitions. Pet Modeling was attended by three participants in the cat category and four in the dog category. The sound of boisterous applause and cheers from the audience was often heard by each contestant waddling on the stage. In this competition, there were seen wearing batik clothes, scarves, scrub clothes with stethoscopes, glasses, and others. The participants competed to show their best performance.

 

While waiting for the winners of each competition, the event continued with awarding lecturers and students. Prof. Dr. Dr. I Nengah Kerta Besung, M.Si and Prof. Dr. Dr. Iwan Harjono Utama, MS came out as the winner in the category of lecturer with the most complete oasis and lecturer on time at FKH Unud based on a survey conducted by the committee in the 2018-2021 class. Prof. Dr. Dr. Iwan Harjono Utama, MS was also present at the awarding activity and thanked the committee for holding the WVD 2022 awarding activity. Then, Prof. Dr. Dr. I Nengah Kerta Besung, M.Si, who was unable to attend, still took the time to make a congratulatory video and thank you for being chosen as a lecturer with the most complete oasis. "This father's oasis has won 1st place at the Unud level and you are also the one who often holds oasis training for lecturers at FKH Unud," said Prof. Dr. Dr. I Nengah Kerta Besung, M.Sc.

 

 

Until finally it came to the announcement of the winners for each competition category starting with the announcement of the winner of the Pet Eating which was won by Chrissyl Fiorel as the 1st place, I Gusti Ayu Putu Alicia Novianti as the 2nd winner, and Made Sandy Widhi Raharja as the 3rd winner, followed by the announcement of the winnerscompetition The Pet Comic which was won by Kadek Ayu Wiadnyani as the 1st place, Chrissyl Fiorel as the 2nd winner, and Dionnysius as the 3rd winner. Not to forget, the Pet Reels which was judged based likes was also announced that day with the winner being Maria Nindi Dewi Sugiarto. In closing the announcement of the winners of the competition, Juan Eriona came out as the 1st winner of the Pet Modeling, Yennifer as the 2nd winner, and Diva Adiwinata as the 3rd winner.

 

The highlight of the WVD 2022 event was ended with closing ceremony in the form of handing over a plaque to the Dean of FKH Unud represented by Prof. Dr. Dr. Iwan Harjono Utama, MS and the judges for the 2022 WVD competition. “This activity was very exciting and packaged in an interesting way. Hopefully next year there will be separate categories for cats and dogs, if you continue to use pet animals,” said Juan Eriona, one of the participants when interviewed regarding the impressions and messages of the event.
