The Glorious Journey of Udayana University Postgraduate Program: Making Achievements in Education and Intellectual Revival
The Udayana University Postgraduate Program (Pascasarjana Unud) has carved an impressive trail along its journey since its establishment in 1992. In response to the demands of improving human resources, especially in Bali and throughout Indonesia, the establishment of Postgraduate Unud became a milestone in developing quality educators, researchers, and professionals.
Initially starting with the opening of the Master of Linguistics Study Program on October 6, 1992, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. I Wayan Bawa, MSc, Postgraduate Unud, it has since undergone significant evolution. With various study programs that are increasingly growing, Postgraduate University has offered 11 doctoral programs (S3) and 25 master programs (S2) until 2016.
However, a major transformation occurred in December 2016 after the issuance of Permenristekdikti No. 30 of 2016. Organizational changes in accordance with this regulation brought significant structural changes to the postgraduate university. Monodisciplinary Doctoral and Masters Study Programs began to be managed by their respective faculties, while multidisciplinary Doctoral and Masters Programs remained under the auspices of Postgraduate Unud, namely the Environmental Science Doctoral Study Program, Environmental Science Masters Study Program, and Occupational Physiology Ergonomics. Until now, Postgraduate Unud has 1 professional program study program, namely the Professional Engineer program study program, and 2 new monodisciplinary study programs, namely the Master of Health Law study program and the Master of Sustainable Development and Finance study program, which are the only study programs in Indonesia and the second study program in the world.
The change of leadership at Postgraduate Unud has reflected the spirit of change and innovation. From Prof. Dr. I Made Bakta, Sp.PD. (KHOM), to Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Budiasa, SP., MP., IPU ASEAN Eng, as the current Postgraduate Director, each leader has brought vision and changes that advance this institution.
With a mission to answer the challenges of the times and make a maximum contribution to higher education in Indonesia, Udayana University Postgraduate Program continues to strengthen its role as one of the leading educational institutions. Through the development of adaptive and innovative study programs and dynamic leadership, Postgraduate Unud continues to move forward as a pioneer in producing high-quality and competitive human resources.
