FK Unud Hosts Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) Training

Collaborating with the UGM Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing (FK-KMK), FK Unud hosted Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) training held by the UGM FK-KMK Tropical Medicine Center at the Harris Hotel Riverview, Kuta. (11-13 October 2023)

 

Prof. Dr. E. Elsa Herdiana Murhandarwati, M.Kes., Ph.D as Chair of the Training Organizer said that this training aims to provide knowledge of work guidelines in research, share knowledge, information and experience related to Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) to staff or researchers.

 

Involving 10 facilitators, on this occasion, FK Unud sent Dr. I Gusti Made Gde Surya Chandra Trapika, M.Sc., Ph.D., as a representative of the research team at FK Unud to take part in the training.

 

Followed by 21 participants from health institutions throughout Indonesia, Dean of FK Unud, Prof. Januartha in his speech conveyed the importance of the function and role of laboratories as well as standards in conducting quality research.

"The laboratory is an important component in research. Therefore, there must be standards that we must follow so that safety in carrying out and the quality of the research is well maintained.

"Hopefully with this training, participants can gain useful knowledge and can return to their institutions to carry out research that meets standards, so that the quality of research can really be maintained," he said.

 

In this 3 day training, there are 9 topics that will be given, namely:

1. Operational guidelines for GCLP

2. Organization and personnel in the context of GCLP

3. Facilities, equipment and materials in the context of GCLP

4. Sample management in the context of GCLP

5. Data recording and reporting

6. Documents

7. Preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

8. Quality control and quality assurance

9. Laboratory assessment using a self-assessment checklist

 

During the training activities, participants will also have the opportunity to visit the Integrated Biomedical Laboratory of FK Unud to see directly the laboratory facilities and infrastructure used to conduct research at FK Unud.
