Responding to the Challenges of MSME Empowerment, FEB UNUD Academician: Triple Helix Synergy Needed

The digitalization era brings its own challenges for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in carrying out their business activities. Apart from the problem of business capital, digital marketing is one of the problems that also needs attention in efforts to empower MSMEs. Increasing digital literacy is a solution to these problems. This was revealed in the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activity, which took the theme of empowerment and growth of regionally based MSMEs in Bali Province.

This FGD presented Member of Commission XI of the House of Representatives, I Gusti Agung Rai Wirajaya, S.E., M.M., Head of Bank Indonesia Representative of Bali Province, R. Erwin Soeriadimadja, and Academician of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University, Dr. Made Dwi Setyadhi Mustika, S.E., M.Si. The problem of access to capital for MSMEs has basically received solutions from various government policies such as the existence of the Bank Indonesia Assisted MSME Program. In addition, there is a government policy in striving for the digitization of MSMEs by targeting 40 million digitized MSMEs by 2024.

Academics from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Udayana University said that to answer various challenges in empowering MSMEs, synergy from various parties is needed. "Triple Helix synergy can be the answer to overcome the problems faced by MSME actors. This synergy involves the government, universities (academics), and the business actors themselves," said the academic, who is familiarly called Dede. In addition to synergy, the consistency of business actors in developing their potential will accelerate the success of regional-based MSME empowerment.
