DOCTOR PROMOTION SESSION KOMANG AGUS SATRIA PRAMUDANA, ST., M.Com.MANAGEMENT DOCTORAL STUDY PROGRAMMEUDAYANA UNIVERSITY'S ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS FACULTY

Students of the Management Doctoral Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University, on behalf of Komang Agus Satria Pramudana, ST., M.Com., held a doctoral promotion session and officially held a doctoral degree on Friday, August 18, 2023.

 
 

The Doctoral Promotion Session was chaired by the Chairman of the Session, Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Anom Purbawangsa, S.E., M.M., who is also the Coordinator of the Management Doctoral Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University.

 
 

The title of the dissertation raised by Promovendus Komang Agus Satria Pramudana, ST., M.Com., which was able to bring the promovendus to achieve the doctoral degree, was "The Role of Sales Strategy Mediating the Effect of External and Internal Environments on Operational Performance with Moderating Operational Control (Study on Pharmaceutical Wholesalers in Bali Province)".

 
 
This research aims to elaborate and explain Contingency Theory which states that business environment, strategy, and control are three important contingency factors that have a correlation between them. The results of this study also strengthen the concept of Transactional Cost Theory, which explains that the relationship between two transacting institutions is not only limited to the dichotomy of buying and selling, but there are also binding conditions in it. The suggestions that can be given are, first, for the government to review regulations that are considered burdensome in achieving PBF operational performance, especially for local PBFs in the regions. Second, for prospective entrepreneurs who will start a business in the field of pharmaceutical distribution to better understand the factors that affect the operational performance of PBF.
 
 
The results showed that the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, government regulations, competitive intensity and resource limitations had a negative and significant effect on operational performance. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, government regulations, intensity of competition, and limited resources have a positive and significant effect on sales strategy. Sales strategy has a positive and significant effect on operational performance. Sales strategy acts as a competitive partial mediating variable of the influence of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, government regulations, competitive intensity and resource limitations on operational performance. Operational control plays a significant role in moderating sales strategy and operational performance.
 
 

This doctoral promotion session was held offline or online at the BH Building, 3rd Floor, Room 3.4, Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, where the promoter of the promotion was Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Kerti Yasa, S.E., M.S., and the co-promoter I was Dr. Ni Wayan Ekawati, S.E., M.M., and the co-promoter II was Dr. Putu Yudi Setiawan, S.T., M.M. This doctoral promotion was also attended by four academic invitees, namely Dr. I Wayan Santika, S.T., M.M., Dr. Ni Putu Cempaka Dharmadewi Atmaja, S.E., M.M., Dr. I Gst. Ngurah Agung Eka Teja Kusuma, S.E., M.M., and Dr. Ir. Ni Wayan Sri Ariyani, S.T., M.M., IPM., A.Eng Doctoral Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University. Promovendus successfully passed the Doctoral Promotion Session by achieving the title with honors (Cumlaude).
