Celebration of World Earth Day 2023

 

Welcoming Earth Day, the Semi-Autonomous Body of Student Community Concerned for the Environment Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (KMPL FK UNUD) held the WEDA KMPL 2023 activity which was held online (9/4/2023) and offline at the Tahura of Kepaon Traditional Village, Denpasar. (6/5/2023)

 

The series of WEDA events began with the holding of 2 online National Competition activities in the form of a Scientific Essay and Public Poster competition that embraced all universities in Indonesia and took the theme "How to Implement Zero Waste in the Era of Society 5.0". The number of participants who took part in the public poster competition was 65 teams, and the scientific essay competition was 25 works.

 

The WEDA KMPL Peak Event which was held on 6 May 2023 took the theme "Manage Waste, Love the Earth, Save Generations". This event has 3 main activity agendas, namely planting mangroves, clean up and natural school which is attended by SMPN 3 Kuta Selatan, Youth and Core KMPL, Representatives of each ORMAWA, and general participants.

 

The mangrove planting activity began with the submission of an activity report by the chief executive of WEDA 2023, namely Sri Suhartini, remarks by the head of the KMPL FK UNUD, namely Luh Gede Agustini Candra Putri, remarks by the Chairperson of the BEM FK UNUD, namely Putu Labitha Parameswari Gustin. Followed by remarks by the Supervisor of KMPL FK UNUD namely Dr. drh. I Made Subrata, M.Erg., said that WEDA's activities have great meaning both from an organizational and dedication perspective.

 

The event was officially opened with remarks from the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Information, Prof. dr. I Md. Ady Wirawan, MPH, Ph.D, who delivered "KMPL this year has celebrated Earth Day with WEDA activities which are getting better every year, and I am still passionate about protecting the environment with our small steps," he said.

 

The event continued with the awarding of certificates and certificates to the winners of the Public Poster and Scientific Essay competitions, as well as the presentation of certificates and mementos to SMPN 3 Kuta Selatan.

 

After the awarding of the charter, the activity was continued with a natural school which was presented by two speakers. The first resource person was Putu Eka Giri Mariani, S.S with the topic "Waste Impact" from the Sungai Watch organization. And the second resource person was Made Yuda Wibawa, S.Hut with the material "Mangrove Planting" from the UPTD Tahura Ngurah Rai organization.

 

The event was closed by giving awards and souvenirs to the speakers.
