Social Service Doctoral Study Program FK Unud; Support Elderly Health and Support Action to Care for Plastic Waste

 

Doctoral Study Program in Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, again collaborating with officials and the people of Banjar Celuk, Celuk Village, Sukawati, Gianyar, to hold active community service activities along with environmental awareness activities by increasing understanding of household plastic waste sorting behavior at the Wantilan Temple of Dalem Temple, Celuk Village , Sukawati, Gianyar on Saturday, December 3, 2022.

 

The activity titled "Celuk Go Green Go Clean" also synergizes with various other activities, including health services. Kelian Banjar Celuk, I Ketut Widi Putra, stated that this activity was carried out together with other activities, such as gymnastics for the elderly, blood donors, as well as support for health education activities and free health services conducted by the Doctoral Study Program in Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. So far, Banjar Celuk, Celuk Village has consistently contributed to this environmental concern with an activity called "plastic exchange", which is an activity of sorting and collecting plastic waste with a system of exchange or exchange of value.

 

The Doctoral Study Program in Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University, on this occasion sent out teaching staff and doctoral students for the 2022 doctoral program. Doctoral student coordinator, dr. Made Oka Negara, S.Ked, M.Biomed said that this time the health education activities focused on delivering information about Mental Health in the Elderly. On this occasion, Dr. dr. Putu Asih Primatanti, Sp.KJ who is an alumni of the study program, as the first resource person discussed "Mental Health Problems in the Elderly and Their Solutions". Followed next by Prof. Dr. dr. I Made Jawi, M.Kes who discussed "Utilization of Family Medicinal Plants for the Elderly". The event runs interactively, guided by dr. Made Oka Negara, S. Ked, M. Biomed.

 

In addition to health education to the community, health services were also provided at the Wantilan Temple in Dalem Temple, Celuk Village. As conveyed by the Chairperson of the activity committee from doctoral students, dr. Komang Trisna Sumadewi, M. Biomed. which states that health services are provided free of charge to the elderly who come while exercising the elderly, as well as to the community and prajuru in Banjar Celuk. The health service this time was accompanied by an ultrasound examination of the abdomen for selective cases. Standard laboratory examinations were also carried out during the span of health services. Doctoral students who are non-doctors also help run this event. Also the participation of the Janar Duta Medical Assistance Team from the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, was involved in helping with this activity. On this occasion, assistance was also given to the Banjar Celuk family medicinal plants as a stimulus to be able to start participating in providing health plants for the elderly.

 

This collaborative activity is planned to continue on a regular basis. Prof. Dr. dr. I Made Jawi, M.Kes, as the Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, stated that he would continue this collaboration so that Celuk Village could be realized as a partner or assisted village for the Doctoral Program in Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, given the strong commitment from the community and village apparatus of Celuk and Banjar Celuk in paying attention to environmental health and public health.
