Promovendus on behalf of Asep Andang with a dissertation title Modeling Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control for Hybrid Active Power Filters in Industrial Networks. Promovendus passed with a very satisfactory predicate

 

 

Dr. Ir. Asep Andang, ST., MT in his presentation said that the presence of harmonics in the electricity network results in various conditions that reduce the quality of electric power. Various consequences of the presence of harmonics include engine operating conditions that are not optimal and a protection system that does not operate properly, greatly disrupting system performance. Therefore, it is necessary to handle how to reduce or even eliminate harmonics in the network.

 

 

The results show that the Finite Control Set – Model Predictive Control control system can be applied to various Hybrid Active Power Filters for one phase, three phase three wire and three phase four wire. Three-phase four-wire Hybrid Active Power Filter using Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control is able to work to reduce harmonic currents under varying nonlinear load conditions so that the average current THD is below 5%, under unbalanced load conditions. in addition to lowering the harmonics in the load, it is also able to balance the load so that it reduces the neutral current so that the %Iunb balance value becomes less than 1%. Under dynamic conditions, the control transient process has a time span of one period of fundamental frequency to reach steady state conditions. The load balance condition can also be maintained, after the installation of the Hybrid Active Power Filter it is below 1%
