Knitting the Family Veterinary Medicine Board, FVM UNUD Holds a National Seminar on PMK as a Synergy for the Success of FMD Prevention in Bali

In the series of the 39th Anniversary of the Veterinary Medicine Family Agency (BKKH), the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University held a National Seminar on Foot and Mouth Diseases (FMD) on Saturday, October 29, 2022. The National Seminar was held with the theme “Viewing Potential in Building Synergy Between Humans Veterinary and Community To Achieving Indonesia Free of FMD". This national seminar was attended by 200 participants from all over Indonesia, most of whom are students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Indonesia.

 

 

 

The activity took place in the Meeting Room on the 1st floor of the Sudirman FVM Building and online through the cisco webex meeting by presenting two speakers. The seminar began with remarks and opening by the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Unud, Prof. Dr. dr. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Si. The first speaker, Prof. Dr. dr. I Gusti Ngurah Kade Mahardika presented material about the New Introduction of Mouth and Nail Disease Virus to Indonesia: "What Should Have Done" and the opportunities..

 

 

The next session by the second speaker, drh. I Nyoman Oka Widiarta, M.Si, discussed the Handling and Experience of Handling FMD in the field. Each material lasts 60 minutes with 15 minutes of discussion sessions.

 

The two speakers also provided an understanding in the form of a simplified study in order to facilitate direct understanding by the participants, so that later they could add insight to the FMD Virus which was not yet known by the majority of the public.

By holding this national seminar, FVM Unud hopes that the public can understand the urgency of FMD in livestock. In addition, students as prospective veterinarians are able to become a bridge of information to the public about FMD disease.
