FMIPA holds International Short Course on Sustainability and Ecotourism
Monday 11 July 2022, FMIPA Udayana University through the UPSKILL program chaired by Dr. Ir. Anak Agung Gde Raka Dalem, M.Sc (Hons). held the opening of the International Short Course on Sustainability and ecotourism which is a series of short courses at the international level until August 5, 2022.
This international short course activity is a collaboration between UNUD (FMIPA and FKP) with Lumen Media Singapore to increase participants' understanding and competence about sustainability and ecotourism by using examples from cases in Bali as learning media. In this opening, the Chairperson of PUI Tourism UNUD, Dr. Agung Suryawan Wiranatha, Dean of FMIPA Dra. Ni Luh Watiniasih, M.Sc, Ph.D, UPSKILL lecturer, and 12 participants from 3 different countries (Germany, Italy and Indonesia).
In his speech, Dr. Agung Suryawan Wiranatha, the head of PUI for Unud Tourism, representing the Chancellor of Udayana University, thanked Lumen Media Singapore, To the UPSKILL Program Unud for their cooperation so that this short course activity can be held. Suryawan added that this activity is one of Udayana University's international level activities programmed from UPSKILL (FMIPA and FKP) of Udayana University which of course will be very good for the development, sustainability of tourism and increasing participants' understanding of sustainable development in general. Hopefully, by studying the cases in Bali, which is a barometer of tourism in Indonesia, this can be one of the references in the development of sustainable tourism both for the participants' areas of origin and for Indonesia, especially in Bali.
Dean of FMIPA, Dra. Ni Luh Watiniasih, M.Sc, Ph.D expressed her very high gratitude to Lumen Media Singapore, and also of course PUI Tourism UNUD, UPSKILL UNUD, FMIPA, FKP for their extraordinary cooperation. Carrying out international level activities online is already difficult, especially now that they are done offline. Of course, it has its own challenges for all of us to carry out international offline activities during this pandemic. Hopefully the pandemic will not dampen the learning intentions of participants and teachers. Welcome to the participants, hopefully what the participants' goals for studying at Udayana University can be fulfilled and beneficial for all of us. Not to forget, Watiniasih expressed her gratitude to the UPSKILL instructors for their willingness to share with the participants. we hope that the teachers can give the best to the participants, partners and of course also to Udayana University
The activity, which was programmed to be implemented from July 11, 2022 to August 5, 2022, took the course location at the FMIPA postgraduate building, UNUD campus Jl PB Sudirman Denpasar and also carried out practice/visits to several locations in Bali.
