Using Nanoemulsion Technology, Lecturer from Faculty of Agricultural Technology Udayana University Creates Cosmetic Products Based on Local Raw Materials
Lecturer of the Faculty
of Agricultural Technology, namely Mr. Dr. Ir. I Dewa Gde Mayun Permana, M.S.
from the Food Technology Study Program in collaboration with Dr. Ir. Lutfi
Suhendra, M.P. from the Agroindustrial Technology Study Program Together with several
students, namely I Wayan Ryantama Swastika Braja and Farchriansyah created
cosmetic products based on local raw materials by utilizing Nanoemulsion
Technology.
Through product research
Innovation, cosmetic products are created such as Face Mist, Hand Sanitizer and
Make Up Cleaner. Uniquely, these cosmetic products are created using basic
ingredients from local products such as carrot extract, turmeric extract,
virgin coconut oil (VCO) and various essential oils from local flowers and
leaves such as ylang flower, cempaka flower, bay leaves and others.
Mr. Dr. Ir. Lutfi
Suhendra, M.P. also said that in the process of making these products,
nanoemulsion and microemulsion technology were applied. The cosmetic products
produced have advantages, namely Food Grade, able to penetrate the epidermis
layer of the skin, have a clear and transparent appearance, do not cause skin
irritation and are non-toxic. He also said that through the results of research
and product innovation, it is expected to produce safe and food grade cosmetic
products so that in the future this product can provide education to the public
to be wise in choosing cosmetic products so that they can choose cosmetic
products based on local ingredients, non-toxic and safe to use so it does not
cause side effects on consumers.
