Promotion of Ni Made Liana Dewi Doctoral Sciences in Law Faculty of Law, Udayana University

Denpasar – Ni Made Liana Dewi is an educator at the Faculty of Law, Dwiendra University, Denpasar. The Open Doctoral Promotion Examination was held in a Hybrid manner on May 13, 2022 in the Hall of the Faculty of Law, Udayana University with a dissertation entitled "Prospects of Criminalization Against the Offenders of Lokika Sanggraha in Renewal of the National Criminal Law".

The Doctoral Promotion Open Examination which lasted for approximately 3 hours was led directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, Dr. Putu Gede Arya Sumertha Yasa, SH., M. Hum, and Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Sirtha., SH., MS as the Promoter, Dr. I Dewa Made Suartha, SH., MH as Co-promoter 1, Dr. I Nyoman Suyatna, SH., MH as the Co-promoter II, and was tested by 4 other examiners/debaters.

 

In her dissertation, Ni Made Liana Dewi, reveals that first, the customary offense of lokika sanggraha is a love relationship between a man and a woman who are both not married and there is a biological relationship on the basis of consensual consent where the man promises to marry the woman but after pregnant woman the man broke his promise to the woman for no reason. Therefore, the nature of the customary offense of lokika sanggraha in the Book of Adi Religion is a respect for the dignity of women from actions that violate values, ethics, morals and decency so that this can maintain balance and harmony in nature both scale and niskala in indigenous peoples in Indonesia. Bali. Efforts to criminalize the perpetrators of the customary offense of lokika sanggraha have not been regulated in the Criminal Code and other laws and regulations so that there is a gap in norms. The regulation regarding strict sanctions against perpetrators of lokika sanggaraha in the future RKHUP is an effort to realize justice and legal protection for victims, especially women.
