Disseminating PP Tunas, Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital Attends Udayana University
Sunday, April 13, 2025 – Rector of Udayana University (Unud), Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana was present accompanied by the Vice Rectors in the socialization activity of the Government Regulation concerning the Governance of the Implementation of Electronic Systems in Child Protection (PP Tunas) which was held at the Postgraduate Building of Udayana University. This event was officially opened by the Minister of Communication and Digital (Komdigi), Meutya Viada Hafid, which marked the government's commitment to strengthening child protection in the digital realm.
This socialization aims to increase understanding and awareness of various parties, especially academics and stakeholders, regarding the importance of electronic system governance that protects children in the digital space.
This activity was also attended by academics from Udayana University, who provided critical views and academic support for the implementation of the policy. In his remarks, the Rector of Udayana University welcomed the presence of this regulation. Unud views PP Tunas as a real form of the state's presence in protecting children from the dark side of digitalization; starting from the exploitation of personal data, age-inappropriate content, to the potential for technology addiction.
This regulation not only regulates technology, but also restores moral principles and social responsibility to the digital space and it is hoped that today's discussion can produce strategic ideas to strengthen Indonesia's position as a country that is not only technologically literate, but also digitally civilized.
Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid in her remarks, emphasized that protecting children in the digital world is one of the government's main priorities. Therefore, this regulation is expected to be able to strengthen the legal and technical framework in the implementation of child-friendly electronic systems.
Through this socialization, it is hoped that a deeper understanding will be born regarding the importance of child-friendly electronic system governance, as well as encouragement for all parties to take part in creating a safe and educational digital ecosystem for the younger generation.
