Udayana University Holds the Peak of the 62nd Anniversary Celebration, Unity To Udayana Go On Lighting Decade
Jimbaran - Udayana University (Unud) held the highlight of the 62nd Anniversary Celebration at the Widya Sabha Auditorium Building, Jimbaran Campus, Sunday (29/9/2024). The highlight of the event was attended by the Assistant for Economics and Development representing the Acting Governor of Bali, Forkopimda, University Partners, Leaders and the academic community of Udayana University as well as other guests.
The Scientific Oration at the peak of this year's Anniversary was delivered by Prof. Dr. (Dr.HC) Dewa Ngurah Suprapta, M.Sc who is one of the Professors from the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University who received a Service Star from the Japanese Government and Dr. HC from Ibaraki University Japan with the title scientific oration Unud as a Locomotive towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.
Rector of Unud Prof. Ir. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana, MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN.Eng in his report for the 62nd Anniversary of Udayana University said that the theme taken this year was "Unity To Udayana Go On Lighting Decade" which gives meaning invites the Udayana University community to unite to move like lightning in creativity, feeling and initiative towards Udayana Emas PTN-BH. Udayana Gold carries the spirit of moving together towards a Golden Indonesia. In 2024, we must rise with a new foundation and chapter in order to strengthen Udayana University's identity as a university that upholds local culture and wisdom through strengthening science and technology towards a superior and integrated educational ecosystem.
The Unud Academic Community has achieved various advances and achievements in the fields of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, both at regional, national and international levels. Likewise, all alumni, as part of the large Unud family, have demonstrated their dedication and contribution to the nation and state, through their work in various institutions and organizations. This led to the achievement of Udayana University as a tertiary institution with the predicate of EXCELLENT.
By achieving UGGUL accreditation which is the basic capital towards PTN-BH (Legal Entity State University), Unud continues to strengthen its educational institutions and is currently transforming towards PTN-BH. This is an effort to realize Unud's vision of realizing a superior, independent and cultured university.
"Meanwhile, challenges and big work will continue to unfold in the future. Assistance, cooperation and suggestions from various parties to continue to develop and maintain the greatness of Unud are highly expected," said the Rector of Unud.
In his report, the Rector also explained Unud's performance achievements and track record in national and international rankings, development plans and transformation steps towards PTN-BH, building Unud Branding, developing innovative products, a superior and integrated educational ecosystem, as well as improving the quality of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of Bali, in his speech read by the Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs, Dr. I Wayan Serinah, S.Sos., M.Si said that regional autonomy provides regional governments with wider space to manage existing resources in the region. This condition provides an opportunity for Regional Governments to utilize Higher Education as strategic partners. The collaboration between the Regional Government and universities, in this case Udayana University, is expected to encourage the acceleration of regional and community development through education, research and community service.
This anniversary is an important and proud forum for the academic community. As the oldest university in Bali, Udayana University is expected to continue to grow and become a strong university and play a more real role in regional development to maintain the sanctity and harmony of nature, humans and Balinese culture based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy which originates from local wisdom values. Prof. Dewa Ngurah Suprapta in his speech said that there are five challenges towards 2045, namely climate change, changes in the workforce, dependence on technology, education that is in line with changing times, and social and economic disparities. Then there are six strategic steps at Unud, namely improving the quality of education, strengthening research and innovation, collaborating with industry and government, developing character and leadership, encouraging globalization of education and developing the Udayana Holding Company.
After the formal event, it continued with a family event which was filled with a performance by the De Tolih Band, awards to 23 retired lecturers and staff, awards to 5 outstanding students, awards to journal managers, handover of books from the Chairman of the LPPM to the Rector, awards to the LPPM Premier League, LP3M Award to the 3 best Faculties, door prize drawing and closing with the Not So Koplo performance.
Chairman of the Committee for the 62nd Anniversary of Unud Dr. I Ketut Adi Atmika on this occasion expressed his gratitude for the implementation of the peak of the Dies Natalis event which began in August, where there were scientific activities, social activities and community service.
