Nine Lecturers of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University Design Turyapada Tower

A total of nine lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University (Unud) designed the construction of the iconic and phenomenal Turyapada Tower KBS 6.0 Kerthi Bali which is located in Pegayaman Village, Buleleng Regency, Bali.

Coinciding with Tumpek Krulut Day on Saturday (23/07/2022), the construction of the Turyapada communication tower KBS 6.0 Kerthi Bali officially began, which was marked by the laying of the first stone and turning on the siren by the Governor of Bali accompanied by the Bali Police Chief, Danrem 163 Wirasatya, Chairman of the Bali DPRD , Deputy Regent of Buleleng and related stakeholders.

It is a matter of pride for Udayana University because the construction of Turyapada Tower KBS 6.0 Kerthi Bali involved nine lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering who on this occasion were introduced one by one by the Governor of Bali, consisting of Dr. Ir. I Made Oka Widyantara ST., MT., IPU, ASEAN Eng as Team Leader, then with eight members namely Dr. eng. Ir. I Wayan Kastawan, ST, MA., Dr. Ir. Ngakan Ketut Acwin Dwijendra ST, SDs, MA, IPU, ASEAN Eng., Dr. Ir. I Dewa Gede Agung Diasana Putra, ST., MT., IPU., Dr. Ir. A A. Gde Agung Yana, ST., MT., Ir. I Gede Adi Susila, ST., MSc, Ph.D, IPM, ASEAN Eng., Ir Made Dodiek Wirya Ardana, ST., MT., Nyoman Pramaita ST., MT., Ph.D, and I Gusti A. Komang Diafari Djuni H, ST., MT.

Turyapada Tower with a height of 115 meters, was built in Pegayaman Village, Buleleng at an altitude of 1,521 meters above sea level, so the total height of this tower is 1,636 meters. This tower will have various multifunctional and integrated facilities located in a tourism area which will become the center of new economic growth in North Bali. This is in order to balance the centers of economic growth in the North, South, East and West areas of Bali.

The team leader of the Turyapada Tower KBS 6.0 Kerthi Bali said the team from the Faculty of Engineering at Udayana University started this work from the planning side and then in the implementation stage, managed the tower construction, so that it could physically fit into the design design. "We remain professional and apply all of our academic aspects, to realize a phenomenal iconic building and as a form of contribution to development in Bali," he said.

He said the planning team of the Unud Faculty of Engineering played a role in translating the ideas from the Governor of Bali, in the form of a design. In the idea contained a telecommunications concept that is able to serve the needs of the community in particular, in the field of digital TV broadcasting.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., Ph.D responded positively to the involvement of Udayana University, especially the Faculty of Engineering in the construction of the Turyapada Tower. He hoped that this team would be able to carry out the tasks entrusted to it and also be able to fly the flag of the Faculty of Engineering Unud in a wider arena.

The Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng., IPU., who gave his support to the Faculty of Engineering team in realizing the monumental iconic tower. "We will back up from various sides, both administrative, financial, social, so that their competence can be utilized as much as possible," he said.

In this implementation process, the Governor of Bali appreciated the involvement of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, from planning, designing, to implementation. The governor said that the construction of the tower will benefit the community as a communication tower, and increase the economy of the local community to tourism accommodation.
