Udayana University Hosts the 2022 NUDC and KDMI Regional Level Selection
Denpasar - The National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology through the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI) held the Regional Selection for the National University Debating Championship (NUDC) and the Indonesian Student Debate Competition (KDMI) with the main location being at the University Udayana Bali, 20-24 June 2022. This activity is intended as a vehicle to form talented students in the field of language and to prepare graduates who are able to make decisions based on logical analysis and facts.
In 2021, the Ministry of Education and Culture has a policy of Independent Learning on an Independent Campus (MBKM) to provide opportunities for students to develop abilities independently outside of their obligations in lectures. Starting in 2021, Puspresnas will hold a national level competition consisting of 15 talent competitions for higher education. The first talent cluster is in science, research and technology, the second cluster is arts, language and literacy, the third cluster is sports and physical health, and the fourth cluster is vocational and entrepreneurship. NUDC and KDMI themselves are included in the arts, language and literacy cluster. The number of participants who passed the requirements for participating in the regional selection for NUDC were 448 teams and KDMI were 446 teams from various universities from all over Indonesia. This activity takes place in a hybrid combination offline and online.
The chairman of the committee, Ni Luh Putu Trisnawati, SS., M.Hum in his report said that this competition was participated by 894 teams from universities in Indonesia where the activities were centered at Unud. A total of 71 judges, of which 15 core judges were present at Unud and the rest were online.
Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Ir. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana, MT.,Ph.D.,IPU representing the Rector of University Udayana in his speech said that as is known this is a self-actualization activity of students in improving Indonesian and English language skills, creating healthy competition, increasing students' ability to compete at the national level and internationally, develop the ability to express opinions logically and systematically, strengthen character and increase student competitiveness. He hopes that this activity can run smoothly and Unud will also be able to win. At the regional level selection, the number of participants is extraordinary, hopefully they can compete with fair play and get a regional champion to compete at the national level. The Vice Rector congratulated the participants on the competition and expressed his appreciation to Puspresnas for entrusting the implementation to University Udayana.
While Plt. The Head of Puspresnas Asep Sukmayadi expressed his appreciation to the participants who had taken part in this competition and also the University Udayana party who was willing to host this activity. The current situation is still difficult, but through a shared commitment to consistently serve achievement development programs during the pandemic and in fact to ensure that the enthusiasm and talent in the field of debate do not stop, with a shared commitment this activity can be carried out. These talents must be managed properly through strengthening the cultivation of the Pancasila character and strengthening the quality of independent campuses.
We have given attention, so that students do not need to hesitate to show achievements. This activity will be an experience that may not be obtained by all students. We have a very powerful generation, and talent development that can identify it. His party hopes that this year a candidate for the national team will be born who will take part in the world-class debate that will be held in Spain and through this activity find a team that is worthy of representing Indonesia.
In the opening ceremony, the signing of a cooperation agreement between University Udayana and Puspresnas was also marked with the implementation of NUDC and KDMI where University Udayana was the host.
