Pencak Silat Athletes from Udayana University won medals at the Banyuwangi Championship 2 national event

The pencak silat athletes from Udayana University managed to get 20 medals at the Banyuwangi Championship 2 national event which took place on March 21-22 2022. Of the 8 male and female classes that were competed at the student level, 16 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 32 bronze medals were prepared by the organizers. where Unud athletes won 4 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 12 bronze medals.

The success of students who are a combination of Merpati Putih UKM, Perisai Diri, and the Loyal Heart Lotus Brotherhood received high appreciation, this was conveyed by the Head of the Ormawa Development Unit (UPO), Drs. I Wayan Santiyasa, M.Sc., "The struggle and persistence of the students as well as the extraordinary training and mentoring of the trainers have made Udayana University proud in the national martial arts arena which in the end this achievement is of course a valuable point in fulfilling the achievement indicators of Udayana both the IKU and SIMKATMAWA”, he said.

Arriving at the Unud Sudirman Denpasar Campus, the athletes were warmly welcomed by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs at Udayana University, Prof. Ir. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana, M.T., Ph.D., IPU. On this occasion, he expressed his gratitude for the extraordinary struggle of the athletes and hoped that this spirit could be transmitted to other athletes to improve their achievements on a field scale.

The supervisor of the Perisai Diri UKM, Ni Luh Yulianti, S.TP., M.Sc., on behalf of the coaches and athletes, thanked the parties involved for facilitating students who took part in the competition, "Thanks to the Rector, Vice Rector III, BKM, UPO and related parties who have helped us in this competition, and this time we really felt how the Chancellor and his staff were committed and facilitated student activities in an extraordinary way”.
