Udayana University Collaborates with IDI, INCAM, and Persandi to Hold NASWAAM 2022

Udayana University in collaboration with IDI, INCAAM, and Persandi held the 2022 National Symposium and Workshop on Anti-Aging Medicine (NASWAAM) which took place online via Zoom Meeting, Friday (11/02/2022).

NASWAAM 2022 took the theme "Stay Young and Healthy by Practicing Anti-Aging Medicine" and was held for three days from 11-13 February 2022 by presenting dozens of speakers including dr. Daeng M. Faqih, S.H., M.H.; dr. Sandy Qlintang; Prof. Dr. dr. Wimpie Pangkahila, Sp.And-KSAAM; Dr. dr. Thomas Eko Purwata, SpN(K); Dr. dr. Ketut Widyastuti, SpN(K); Dr. dr. A A. A Laksmidewi, SpN(K); Dr. med. dr. Maya Surjadjaja, MGizi, Sp.GK, IAAF; dr. Johannes Soedjono, Mkes, Sp.And; Prof. Dr. dr. A A. G Budhiartha, Sp.PD-KEMD; Prof. Dr. dr. I Wayan Weta, Msi, Sp.GK; Dr. dr. Liza Widjaja, M. Biomed (AAM), M. Pharm; Dr. dr. Rita Lahirin, M.Gizi, M.Biomed (AAM); Dr. dr. Dian Andriani, Sp.KK, M.Biomed (AAM), MARS, MH; Dr. dr. Prof. Wimpie Pangkahila as the Head of the Committee for the National Symposium and Workshop on Anti-Aging Medicine reported that this activity has been held since 2011, where every year it takes place offline and is attended by participants from all over Indonesia. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, since 2021 and 2022 the symposium has been held online. Attending the 2022 NASWAAM, 300 participants from various regions in Indonesia.

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Dr. dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih in his speech said that the Postgraduate Program, especially the Anti-Aging Medicine Program, was the pride of Udayana University. Regarding its development, the Center for Anti-Aging Medicine Studies, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University in collaboration with the Indonesian Center for Anti-Aging Medicine (INCAAM), and the Association of Andrology Specialists (Persandi) initiated this NASWAAM activity. The implementation of NASWAAM is one of the efforts to popularize Anti-Aging Medicine for the general public and academics.

On the same occasion, the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Doctors Association, dr. Daeng M. Faqih, S.H., M.H. conveyed that we are currently entering the era of Health Tourism, where the problems of Anti-Aging, Wellness, aesthetics are becoming increasingly popular. Therefore, activities such as NASWAAM must be fostered, and NASWAAM is expected to add information to our society that in Indonesia there are Anti-Aging, Aesthetics, Wellness services that are not inferior to other countries.

While the Rector of Udayana University Prof. I Nyoman Gde Antara in his speech said that the NASWAAM was carried out by the Center for Anti-Aging Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University in collaboration with the Indonesian Center for Anti-Aging Medicine (INCAAM), and the Association of Andrology Specialists (Persandi). The Postgraduate Program in the specialty of Anti-Aging Medicine, Udayana University has been listed as the first in the world, since 2007. For this reason, the name Udayana University has been recorded as a World Record holder from MURI (Indonesian World Record Museum) and also received a certificate of appreciation from the American Academy of Anti-Aging -Aging Medicine.

The Center for Anti-Aging Medicine Studies, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University has also produced many alumni with Master's degrees, who are now scattered in various regions from all over Indonesia. In addition, the specialty of Anti-Aging Medicine has also graduated a Doctorate, which is of course very necessary for the development of the nation's quality of life.
