BIRCB WILL BRING THE FIRST BALI WORKSHOP ON BANANA SEPTEMBER 2018

Denpasar - Thursday (22/03/2018) at Postgraduate Building, Rector of Udayana University accompanied by Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Dean of Faculty of Agriculture held a meeting with Bali International Research for Banana (BIRCB) Team. This activity was carried out following up the cooperation between UNUD and ITB in the framework of organizing the International Conference entitled The First Bali Workshop on Banana which will be held in September 2018. This first workshop takes the theme "From Cultivation to Postharvest" which will discuss "Techniques On Selection and Cultivar Propagation, Optimization "to obtain maximum yield and quality of banana cultivation including postharvest management and industrial process, some major speakers from abroad such as America, Japan and Philippines have confirmed to attend this workshop.

Prof. Ketut Wikantika as the Director of BIRCB conveys the focus of BIRC activities in 2018 is the implementation of the International Conference on banana which was first implemented in Southeast Asia. In the conference will also be published BIRCB activities which is the cooperation of Unud with ITB. Going forward BIRCB plans to hold the International Conference every two years.

Rector of Unud, Prof. Dr. dr. A A. Raka Sudewi, Sp.S (K) appreciates and supports the event and hopes that BIRCB can become one of the leading centers in Udayana University. (HM)
