Unud Made a Cooperation With Two Universities in China
Bukit Jimbaran (24/05/2017) - Udayana University has signed MoU with two universities from China. MoU was held in the Ruang Bahasa of Rectorate Building in Bukit Jimbaran Campus. The two universities were Hainan University, and Hainan Tropical Ocean University. This cooperation will be focused in tourism, marine, language and other fields of science. The event was attended by the Director of the Central International Programs (CIP) which represented Rector of Unud, Vice Dean III of Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Head of Cooperation and Public Relations of Unud, Deputy Director-General, the Education Department of Hainan Province, Vice Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Division of Hainan University and Vice President of Hainan College of Foreign Studies.
Director of CIP Unud, Ni Putu Sri Harta Mimba, Ph.D in her speech said that Unud is one of the universities with the largest number of foreign students in Indonesia, especially for short courses. In the future, it is expected to establish cooperation between Unud and the two universities in Hainan Island, China. Furthermore, CIP Director said that in November 2017 will attend the conference in China and it is expected that at the same time will be held a return visit to Hainan University and Hainan Tropical Ocean University.
Deputy Director-General, the Education Department of Hainan Province, Mr. LI Yuenan conveyed that Hainan is one of the islands in China province that has the same climate with the island of Bali, with almost similar weather, so it feel like being at home when arriving in Bali. LI Yuenan in his speech said that Bali is very famous in Hainan, and it is also one of the reasons Hainan University cooperate with Udayana University. In the field of tourism, it is expected Hainan island can grow and famous as the island of Bali later. In the field of education is expected to work together with Unud that can be followed up on technical cooperation in various fields including exchange student, exchange staff, and others. Li Yuenan also said that he will provide scholarships for Unud students who want to carry out a lecture at Hainan University to realize that the Hainan University team and the Hainan government team will make a further visit in July 2017.
Vice Director of International Cooperation Division and Exchange Division of Hainan University, Ms. YANK Zhixin said Hainan University has 18 faculties, some of them are similar to Unud faculty which it makes a good opportunity for both universities to work together in the future. For the Bachelor's program the teaching and learning process at Hainan University is conducted in Chinese so that the Unud students will have little difficulty to follow the Chinese program, but for the Postgraduate program the teaching and learning process is available in English.
Especially in the field of language, Mr. YANK Xueqian, Vice President of Hainan College of Foreign Studies, is looking forward to work with Unud especially on the exchange staff program with Hainan College of Foreign Studies especially in Mandarin and Indonesian language learning.(PR)
