Prof.Dr.Tjokorda Gde Tirta Nindhia, S.T., M.T, Udayana University Engineering Faculty Staff, Received National Energy Award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Sudirman Said, bestowed Energy Awards 2015 on the awarding night event, Thursday (22/10).This fifth Energy Award was held at the Auditorium Binakarna, Bidakara Hotel, Jakarta.The awarding night was held in coincide with the World Energy Day.This event is also a series of Mines and Energy 70th  anniversary and was attended by about 300 guests from officials within the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, related ministry / institutions, state-owned enterprises,  district heads, head of Energy and Mineral Resources Department, universities, professional organizations and stakeholders of Energy and Mineral Resources sector in Indonesia.

Energy Award is an appreciation from  government to appreciate the services of individuals, community groups, businesses and government agencies / local authorities who contributed and have a major impact on business operations development, supply and use of energy with the principle of diversification and / or energy conservation by producing tangible products as a result of innovation and development of new technologies.

The event which entitled "Local Wisdom Towards Energy Independence"  has the aim to appreciate the stakeholders who have been sustainably innovating and developing technology in Energy and Mineral Resources sector, to inspire people to use renewable energy and create energy-saving culture and also to encourage stakeholders in the development and utilization of energy.

There are three recipient categories of Energy Award, namely:

1.      Prakarsa Energy Award for the Individual and Society;

2.      Pratama Energy Award for the National / Regional or foreign Company;

3.      Prabawa Energy Award for Government Agencies and Local Government.

The selection process has begun in May 2015, includes the step of socialization, nomination, evaluation, selection, judging, verification, determination, announcement and bestowal of Energy Award. This year, the prospective Energy Award recipients are in total of 76 candidates, with details of 42 Prakarsa candidates, 23 Pratama candidates and 11 Prabawa candidates.The candidates are from 23 province and 52 districts / cities throughout Indonesia.

The assessment was carried out independently by the jury consisting of 9 (nine) people of Energy and Mineral Resources sector associations, universities, practitioners and community leaders. Jury plenary session set the 13 (thirteen) Energy Award recipients with the following details:

The Individual Recipient of Prakarsa Energy Award 2015:

1.      Prof.Dr.Tjokorda Gde Tirta Nindhia, ST, MT, Badung, Bali

2.      Sudiyanto, Banyumas, Central Java

3.      Supramu Santosa, Jakarta

The Society Recipient of Prakarsa Energy Award 2015:

1.      Faculty of Engineering, University of Brawijaya, Malang, East Java

2.      SMK Muhammadiyah 7 Gondanglegi, Malang, East Java

3.      Clean Energy Foundation Indonesia (EnerBI), South Tangerang, Banten


The Recipient of Pratama Energy Award 2015:

1.      PT Gunung Madu Plantations, Central Lampung, Lampung

2.      2. PT.Len Industri (Persero), Bandung, West Java

3.      PT.MEDCO E & P Indonesia, Palembang, South Sumatra

The Recipient of Prabawa Energy Award 2015:

1.      Local Government of Yogyakarta

2.      The Government of Agam Regency

3.      The government of Kendari City

4.      The Department of Energy and Mineral Resources of West Papua Province

In addition of setting the 13 Energy Award recipients, the jury chosed the City of Kendari government as the winner of ‘The Most Inspiring’ award. Before the judging process of Energy Award was completed, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources had facilitated 24 nominees of Energy Award Recipients 2015 to join the 70th Indonesian Proclamation of Independence commemoration on August 17th, 2015 at the National Palace and the Indonesian President Gathering event with the National Role Models at Bogor Palace on August 18th, 2015.
