Udayana University Receives Visit from Consulate General of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste in Bali

Denpasar - The Consulate General of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste in Bali, Carolina Maria da Silva together with the Secretaries and Assistant Attachés at the Consulate General of RDTL in Bali visited Udayana University, Monday (10/3/2025). The Consul General of RDTL and the delegation were received by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information representing the Rector of Udayana University together with the Vice Rector for Student Affairs at the Prof. Dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah Meeting Room, Faculty of Medicine Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar. Also attending the meeting were the Deans from several related faculties, representatives of the KUI, the Cooperation Section and Students from RDTL.

The Rector of Udayana University in his remarks read by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information Prof. I Putu Gede Adiatmika said that this visit was an important momentum in strengthening relations between Udayana University and Timor Leste, especially in the fields of education, research, and academic exchange. As is well known, Udayana University has a close relationship with Timor Leste, both through institutional cooperation and the presence of Timor Leste students studying on this campus.

Some of the cooperation that has been carried out includes cooperation in the fields of education, research, cultural exchanges and environmental training related to climate change, with several faculties at Udayana University. Udayana University is always committed to providing a conducive academic environment, supporting the development of science, and creating opportunities for Timor Leste students to develop and contribute to their nation in the future.

"We are ready to continue to expand collaboration, both in the form of joint research, academic exchanges, and programs that can provide benefits for both parties," he said. 

His party is also committed to providing the best education and supporting the academic and professional journey of students from Timor Leste and hopes that students can make the most of their study time here, not only to gain knowledge, but also to build valuable networks and experiences.

Meanwhile, the Consul General of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste in Bali, Carolina Maria da Silva, in her speech, felt happy and pleased to have been well received at Udayana University. The purpose of the visit to Unud was to introduce themselves and the new structure at the Timor Leste Consulate in Bali. This visit was also to foster friendship and this was the main purpose of going to Unud to foster friendship with the campus in Bali which has become a home and parent for Timor Leste students studying in Bali. 

Furthermore, the Consul General introduced himself and the structure of the Consul General, where he had only been on duty in Bali for 36 days and hoped for assistance from Udayana University in supervising Timor Leste students on this campus. Through this opportunity, the Consul General also thanked Udayana University for establishing good bilateral relations by accepting students from Timor Leste.
