Udayana University Tourism Confucius Institute Board Meeting, New Director Conveys Commitment to Increasing International Collaboration
Jimbaran - Udayana University (Unud) TCI (Tourism Confucius Institute) Annual Board Meeting took place online from three locations, namely Udayana University in Bali, Nanchang University and Nanchang Normal University in China, Wednesday (8/1/2025).
The main agenda for this meeting included several reports submitted by TCI leaders. The accountability report was delivered by Prof. Tao Xiang Guang, former China Director of TCI, gave an explanation of the achievements and challenges faced by TCI during his leadership period. This report was followed by the submission of the Final Budget report by Dr. I Made Sendra, former Director of Indonesia TCI, who provided an overview of the financial condition and budget management of TCI during his leadership as Director of Indonesia TCI.
The activity continued with the submission of a work plan for 2025 by the new Director of Indonesia TCI, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Widyatmaja. In his presentation, he emphasized the strategic plans and important initiatives that TCI Indonesia will take to support stronger international collaboration in the future. TCI's new China Director, Mr. Lu Kemin, expressed his commitment to strengthening relations between TCI China and international partners, especially in Indonesia and Bali.
Rector of Udayana University, Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana, in his speech emphasized the importance of collaboration between educational institutions at the international level and his hopes for the success of TCI programs in the future. The Rector also expressed his gratitude for this useful collaborative relationship and hopes that it can continue to grow stronger in the future.
Welcome remarks were also delivered by representatives from Nanchang Normal University, Prof. Wang Jinping, who expressed his university's readiness to support various TCI initiatives, both in the fields of education, research and international community development.
The activity closed with a symbolic ceremony of handing over an award certificate to Prof. Tao Xiang Guang and Dr. I Made Sendra as a form of appreciation for their contribution in leading TCI during their term of office.
By holding this board meeting, TCI shows its commitment to continuing to strengthen international networks and collaborate in achieving better global education goals. For 2025 there are several initiatives planned by TCI including Increasing Mandarin Language Proficiency, HSK Exam Support, Professional Mandarin Language Training in the Tourism Sector, Promotion and Collaboration in the Tourism and Culture Sector, Strengthening Tripartite Cooperation, Adaptation to Bali's Global Role, as well as Management and Efficient Teaching.
