Udayana University Dental and Oral Hospital Holds National Dental Health Month Activities

Jimbaran - Udayana University (Unud) Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM) is holding National Dental Health Month (BKGN) activities, 18 - 20 December 2024. This activity takes the theme "Dare to Show Off, Support a Stronger Indonesian Smile" and was opened directly by Rector of Unud.

Chairman of the Committee, Drg. Ida Bagus Pramana Putra Manuaba, Sp.PM in his report said that National Dental Health Month is one of the annual activities that is routinely carried out in collaboration with PT Unilever Indonesia, the Bachelor of Dentistry and Dentist Profession Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Unud and RSGM Unud with the main aim is to provide care and education related to dental and oral health. Apart from that, it is also a means of promoting the Undergraduate Dentistry Study Program and the Dentist Profession as well as introducing the wider community to RSGM Unud.

There are several activities that have been implemented as a series of National Dental Health Month, namely the School Health Program in several elementary schools last November. Then the activities currently taking place are free dental examinations and treatments in the form of simple extractions, simple fillings and also tartar cleaning services with the number of patients who have registered as many as 693 people. Apart from that, there are also long distance services or online teleconsultations in line with this activity and there are also entertainment activities.

Director of RSGM Unud drg. Putu Ratna Kusumadewi Giri, Sp.KG, in his speech expressed his thanks to all parties who have supported this activity with extraordinary enthusiasm and have been running it every year. This activity is the result of collaboration between the Indonesian Dental Faculty Association, the Indonesian RSGM Association with Unilever and support from PDGI. They hope that this activity can continue.

Unilever Indonesia's Assistant Area Sales Manager, Indra Aji Setiawan, in his speech said that as part of the commitment to protect Indonesia's healthy smiles, BKGN is a form of ongoing collaboration between Unilever Indonesia through Pepsodent, PDGI, AFDOKGI, ARSGMPI and also the Ministry of Health to free Indonesian people from dental problems. and mouth.

Organized since 2010, BKGN has a mission to spread the importance of brushing your teeth twice a day after breakfast and dinner and consulting a dentist twice a year. This mission is realized through free dental examinations and treatment at all FKG and RSGM in Indonesia combined with education in schools which until last year had benefited 1.1 million Indonesians. For this achievement, Unilever expressed its appreciation to PDGI, AFDOKGI, ARSGMPI who have been involved and supported the successful implementation of this Dental Health Month.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Unud, Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana in his speech said that this activity was one part of the Tridharma of Higher Education, namely community service and for this reason he would like to thank the Director of RSGM who has collaborated to implement BKGN 2024 at Udayana University. The Rector hopes that in the future RSGM will not only be able to serve the people in South Badung but also tourists because it is in a tourism area and provide income generating for Udayana University which is in the process of becoming a PTN BH.

On this occasion the Rector also reviewed the infrastructure owned by RSGM Unud.
